Idol Drama

We knew that when Simon Cowell would leave the show, American Idol would fall apart.  And it is just a few months away from the filming of the new season, and already articles are spreading around the net talking about casting shakeups.

Last night, I looked on the internet and found that Ellen Degeneres was leaving the judges.  She said that her schedule was way too much for her, juggling two tv shows.  Although many didn't like her because of their conservative views and homophobic feelings, I personally enjoyed her because she was funny and she had an outlook on the songs that Simon or Paula did not.  I think many fans will miss her dearly.

And then we look on the internet today to find some more startling news.  Kara DioGuardi is on the top of the news when rumors have circulated that she has been fired by FOX and AI executives.  While some say they are just rumors, some say that her contract is up and FOX has no intentions of letting her renew.  While I thought she was a nice judge when I returned to watching the show last season, I quickly learned that she disects all of the songs the contestants sing.

She talks about too much or not enough emotion and trying to find themselves and stuff like that.  Really, who cares.  You can just be like Randy Jackson and say "Good Job Dog!" or something like that.  I am sorta not suprised that she only lasted 2 seasons.

So after 10 years of American Idol, Randy Jackson seems to be the only one that has not had any trouble while being on the show, and he doesn't seem to have any trouble anytime soon.  Unless the show has an unexpected cancellation, Jackson is not going anywhere.

But there is some promising news to all of this shake up.  We have learned that Jennifer Lopez is close to reaching a deal, a judge that would be very popular among the fans.  I personally would look forward to watching her judge.  Stevens Tyler is rumored to taking the place of Simon Cowell.  I don't look forward to this news because he just seems too weird.  I was really looking forward to the thought of Bret Michaels being a new judge.  But I guess we all can't get what we want.

We have also learned that they will be returning to the 3-judge format.  That is also good news, because who wants to listen to 4 judges praising or ranting, when you can listen to 3 to do the same thing.  I know some people had alot to say about this back in season 8 when they bumped it up to four people.

Well guys, it looks like we will have alot to read and watch when it comes to all of this shake ups going on.  I can't wait to hear Kara accusing FOX of firing her because of her infatuation of Casey James.  It is going to be a lot of laughs!

Until next time!

Idol Winner

Well the finale has just ended for tonight.  Millions of people voted, millions watched, but only one won.  Do you know who won?  Well if you don't, then don't worry.  I have the answer for you!

The winner of season nine is Lee Dewyze!!  Suprised?  Well apparently it was a suprise to him as well.  I am watching as we speak and he is speechless!  He truly deserves this spot!

OMG!!  They sang 'Together We Are One' which was written and sung by the lovely Delta Goodrem.  I was so excited to hear it!!  A total shock!!  I really wanted to see her perform...but oh well.  At least a little bit of Delta was alive at this show!!

Personally though, I thought this was by far the worst season!  The judges were not at all hot, the singing was not that good, and neither was the natural, raw talent.  Contestants in the past has know who they want to be and how to be that way.  This season was filled with many people who didn't know who or what they wanted to be as an artist.  I hope that after this season they have realized it.

And we also got to say goodbye to Simon Cowell tonight.  After nine years, he has left to persue new adventures.  We wish him the best of luck, but without him, how long will the show really last?  I mean seriously, he really was the pants of the show, and was the funny villian to watch.  Nobody can really fill his shoes I think.  What about you?

Do you think the show will be back next season?  The show has went way down in ratings, although it is the biggest show around now.  Maybe because there has been so many changes to the show.  Like Cowell leaving, then there was Ellen to replace Abdul, and then there is Kara who thinks she has to tell a story everytime it is her turn to judge.  I guess we will just have to wait and see.  Maybe they should get us to vote on it?

Anyways, I wish the winner the best of luck and I'm sure I will see their new single on the #1 charts on Itunes.  I hope they will enjoy their new car that they are getting!

Thoughts of Urban

I don't think there is one of us in the USA that is a stranger of the American Idol show. Even the other contries on this earth have their own adaptations. It is one of the best reality tv shows that you can find, with tens of millions of people watching it every week. The show is currently in it's 9th season. Or is it 10th? I lost count. Either way, this is the first one in the past three seasons that I have watched. I got back into it, and it is still really good.

This week, we have seen the top 24 perform to get into the top 12. At this stage, you really start to find out who has the real talent, and who can do diffrent and many types of songs. And of course, with you people who have AT&T, can vote for the people you like. This week there were the contestants who had their good songs and bad songs, but there was one in particular that I want to talk about today.

Tim Urban is on this season, and made it onto the top 24 pretty much by luck. When Chris Golightly was disqualified, Time was up to replace him. To be honest, I was excited about this switch. He has that "normal","girl's heartrob" look to him, which is a pretty vital quality to be on the show.

This week, he chose "Apologize" by OneRepublic. This is one of my favorite songs. It was destroyed by him. You have to have a high male voice for that song, and Urban didn't cut it. You could tell that when he was trying to hit a high note, he was pushing it, and when it did come out, it was a very quiet sound.

My sister and I both thought it was a terrible performance, and we were very disappointed because we both thought that he would be good. I was pretty much sure that he would only make it because of the girls were all hot for him.

Even Simon said that they were right in not choosing him the first time. That was harsh, but it seemed like it was true.

Then came for elimination night. And you know what? He made it. I was super shocked with that, and by the looks of it, so was he. I think he was sure that he was going to get kicked off.

So we get to see him for another week. I really hope he chooses a better song to sing. Another performance like that will get him the ax on the show. This may seem shocking, but I really hope he does do well on this show. I'll update you more on American Idol performances later next week.
