Music Craves

I am so excited about the results of the poll so far. If you haven't heard of it yet, it is to your right. I started it last week, and I wanted more accurate results so I make the poll last from last week to Dec. 30th. I also wanted to make it more balanced, and added a variety of artists from people to vote for. 3 Pop, 3 Country, and 3 Rock. And so far, 5 out of the nine have triple digit numbers! Some on the verge of 4 digits! The voting is wild right now and we have just gotten started!

I should be doing anything other than writing right now. I have papers to write, a class to prepare to teach, and prepare for a speech. And all I can think of doing right now is talking about all of my music craves.

Such new and great music is out or coming out right now. Everytime I go on the iTunes store, something new is there. Like my last post, I bought Tim Urban's new song, and I just in the moment and started buying like crazy.

Tim released another new song. Called "Wheels Touch Down" I believe. It's good, but it really didn't give hype like the first one did. I moved on through the store and saw that the Black Eyed Peas has a new song out, a remake with a mixture of their own work in it.

The Script finally released their single for their new album in the states today. "For the First Time" is very good, expressing hard times in this economy. I was so excited to see the preorder for the new album. But of course, I will be buying it cheaper on Barnes and Noble. Sorry iTunes.

"Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry took a new turn when a male vocal sings it for the new episode of Glee. From what I have gathered, the song is to inspire Kurt, the gay member, by who I expect is the new boyfriend that Kurt is getting that we have heard about. I don't usually get songs that are very new, but this version of the song is really good, so I thought what the heck. I'm listening to it now, and hearing, "You think I'm pretty without any makeup on" from a guy is a little bit interesting. So moving along...

So I hear Joe Jonas is releasing his first solo album. I have to say that I am suprised that it took him this long. I figured that he would be the first one to break away and start on his own. But I hear it is going to have some pop/dance/electro feel to it. Knowing Joe, he probably will make it more wild than the innocent JoBros lyrics. Maybe I will be able to stand it more that way.

What makes me sad is that we haven't heard anything new from Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden. Yes, today is Delta's birthday (LOVE YOU!), but no sign of a new single or a new album. What a bummer. And Brian's "Just Say So" single doesn't seem to be getting any more popular. I keep asking myself if the single is even being played on radio. Brian said it would be out Oct. 10th, but I haven't heard anything since. To be honest, if anyone was to release anything, I wish it would be these two great artists!

So you see? I have alot of craves right now. Do you have a crave that you cannot wait to be released? Comment and tell me what it is!

Breathe...

Attention all Delta Goodrem fans! We seem to have a new song with Delta in it! It's not her song, but she is heavely featured in this new song, along with Mark Masri. The song is called 'Breathe, Dreame, Pray, Love', and it is 5 star material!!

I stumbled among this song when I was checking on how well Delta's songs were going on iTunes. I tend to do this to get an idea if anyone is buying her songs. And there it was, a new thing on her page. The album called 'Home' by Jim Brickman. I was curious as to why it was on her page. It made me think that she helped write a song for him, and I clicked it. I was suprised to see that she was actually featured in one of the songs. I previewed it, and it instantly took my breath away.

I instantly bought it, and I have listened to it ever since. Delta sings for most of the song, which is a change from other duets and songs that she has recently been in. And she sings with Mark Masri, which sounds like a good artist as well! And in parts, you get goosebumps from the perfect harmony that they have together. Truly an inspirational song.

I posted the link of the song, and Delta fans went crazy over it. Many Delta twitter pages started putting in the link as well, and before you know it, people all knew about the song. People are calling it an amazing song, and hope that this is the direction Delta plans to go with her new album. I agree with that.

Here is a small lyric of the song:
"Breath like it is my last breath coming
dream like I am not awake
and pray like I know a new day is dawning
love like you love me"

So, if you haven't heard the song yet, I strongly encourage you to listen to it, and buy it as well! This is an amazing song and I think Delta fans are going to be talking about this for awhile.

Just Say So

Brian McFadden and Delta Goodrem have both really been in the spotlight lately, both in the USA and in Australia. We saw Delta perform lovely in the 'Stand Up To Cancer' event, and quickly seeing her perform for the 10th anniversary of the Virgin Airlines. But at the same time Brian has gotten things done by releasing the 'Mistakes' music video, as well as release the single and planning on releasing 'Just Say So' in the USA next week.

First of all, the video. The video has gotten thousands of views and awesome reviews from all over the world. Not only is it for a good song, but the video is hot, funny and sexy. To see the hottest couple right now film a video like this is nothing short of genius.

And then of course there is the new single in Australia. Yes, he released the 'Mistakes' single. The cover is simply to die for, and the song continues the feeling. It is not that much different than the original album version, but it is worth the buy to Australian buyers because you get both the song and video for the price of one. Great deal!! And so far it is making it up the Itunes charts really fast. It's going to be the next big thing is Australia.

And now for the big news in the USA. Brian will be releasing his first hit single from the 'Wall of Soundz' album, 'Just Say So'. It is what many USA Brian fans have been waiting for. And if it makes as much of an impact that it did in Australia, it is going to be huge!! But remember, us fans have to stand together and make sure that the single makes it big. So make sure to start buing Itunes cards so you are able to buy it as soon as it is released! I will keep you all updated on how it charts and stuff.

I will talk to you all soon!

Performed

I really should be working on my Upton Sinclair paper. Not only that, but I should be starting on my other 4 page paper. But you know what, I would rather be writing here right now. So here I am.

Many of you probably tuned in on here to watch the Stand Up To Cancer event. The event was pretty huge. It aired on 17 networks, including the four major networks. And it was streaming live all over the net, reaching audiences up into the millions. I made sure I was right there watching it and looking forward to the talent that was scheduled to perform.

The entire hour was very emotional and uplifting at the same time. Some of the music wasn't the best in the world though. Stevie Wonder sounded like he was murdering his song, bless him. And then of course there is the final song that really made me mad.

The final song was the song that I was looking forward to. Delta Goodrem was performing in it. So immediately when the announcer only mentions her as "friend", I was pretty disappointed. Delta started the song and was very powerful and gorgeous as always. Following was Leona Lewis that was very weak in her start of the song. Together, they sounded very good. Others performing during the song was Heart and Natasha Bedingfield. And another disappointment was that they started rolling the credits before the song was even over. I wasn't happy at all.

But I eventually calmed down and started looking on the bright side. Delta was so excited to be apart of this amazing cause and to perform with other very popular musicians. And plus, her name is on the Itunes credits so she will get her credit in the end. I was so proud of her!

Speaking of Delta, Brian McFadden released his 'Mistakes' music video this week. And may I tell you that it is nothing short of amazing! The entire song worked well with the video. It was funny at times, and sometimes it was "I can't believe he/she just did that!" Already the video has gotten major views and positive reviews. I can't wait til America starts to see the talent Brian and Delta have together!!

Well I think I need to start of these papers. It's going to take me forever! I'll talk to you all soon!

McNugget

You probably remember me talking about Brian McFadden's recent album a few months ago.  Back in April, Brian released his 3rd studio album, 'Wall of Soundz'.  He announced that the album would have a worldwide release on the 23rd of that month.  That month rolled around, and only Australia got the release, I think.

Now, I don't think it was Brian's intention to release only in Australia.  I think he was really excited to release worldwide.  But you know record deals.  You gotta get the right deal and promote and stuff like that.  I think he was still working out a deal when the album was released.  But still, myself and many other hungry Brian McFadden fans were disappointed when we didn't get a release.

He then announced on his twitter, known as brianmcnugget, that he was scheduling a August date for his first single 'Just Say So'.  That brings the point of this post.  This month is nearly over, and no release so far.  There is only 2 more dates for it to be released on Itunes.  And that would be tomorrow, and the following Tuesday.  It really makes me think that if it isn't released on either of those dates, then when will we ever get it?

I saw a interview with Brian published today on Perez Hilton's site.  They mainly talked about his past and future, with Delta Goodrem, and his five tatoos, which I didn't know he had that many!  While they didn't give a specific date, they did act like a release would be soon.  But that could always change.  But it got me thinking, maybe the video was a promotion tactic.  It has gotten over 6,000 views, which is pretty good.  And that makes me think that maybe tomorrow is a possible release.

So anyways, I tried really hard today to get a look at the Itunes releases for tomorrow and see if he was releasing anything, but nothing.  And Brian hasn't mentioned anything either.  So I really hope that tomorrow is the day, and if not, I hope we hear a specific date soon!  Stay tuned!

Favorite 2010 Artist

Okay guys, I have the moment you all have waiting for.  For the past weeks, thousands of votes have been put into a poll to see who is the best artist of 2010.  There were 2405 to be exact.  And votes were for many diffrent artists such as Justin Beiber, Brian Mcfadden, Delta Goodrem, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Lee DeWyze, Jonas Brothers, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, and Lady Antebellum.

Actually, we had quite a battle going on.  There were many fans who really wanted one to win the title.  But sadly only one can win it.  So here are the results, are you ready for it?  Well I won't let you wait any longer.  The winner is:

DELTA GOODREM!!

Yes my friends, Delta won the top spot with 715 votes.  We congratulate her for her big win!  She certainly had competion, and even fell to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place at some points.  But of course, her loyal fans prevailed through.  Let me go ahead and give you the other results:

2nd: Lady Gaga- 619
3rd: Lee DeWyze- 449
4th: Jonas Brothers- 219
5th: Ke$ha- 143
6th: Justin Beiber- 131
7th: Brian Mcfadden- 106
8th: Beyonce- 16
9th: Miley Cyrus- 6
10th: Lady Antebellum- 1

I just wanna say how much fun I had watching the voting take place.  And apparently some of you did as well.  I also wanted to mention the 2 artists that managed some of the biggest jumps in votes in a very short time.  Lady Gaga gained 600 votes in less than 6 hours, with Jonas Brothers gaining 200 overnight.  Way to go!!

Well guys, this was fun.  I will certainly have to find another topic to choose for another poll.  So stay tuned, because you never know when one will be up!!

Idol Winner

Well the finale has just ended for tonight.  Millions of people voted, millions watched, but only one won.  Do you know who won?  Well if you don't, then don't worry.  I have the answer for you!

The winner of season nine is Lee Dewyze!!  Suprised?  Well apparently it was a suprise to him as well.  I am watching as we speak and he is speechless!  He truly deserves this spot!

OMG!!  They sang 'Together We Are One' which was written and sung by the lovely Delta Goodrem.  I was so excited to hear it!!  A total shock!!  I really wanted to see her perform...but oh well.  At least a little bit of Delta was alive at this show!!

Personally though, I thought this was by far the worst season!  The judges were not at all hot, the singing was not that good, and neither was the natural, raw talent.  Contestants in the past has know who they want to be and how to be that way.  This season was filled with many people who didn't know who or what they wanted to be as an artist.  I hope that after this season they have realized it.

And we also got to say goodbye to Simon Cowell tonight.  After nine years, he has left to persue new adventures.  We wish him the best of luck, but without him, how long will the show really last?  I mean seriously, he really was the pants of the show, and was the funny villian to watch.  Nobody can really fill his shoes I think.  What about you?

Do you think the show will be back next season?  The show has went way down in ratings, although it is the biggest show around now.  Maybe because there has been so many changes to the show.  Like Cowell leaving, then there was Ellen to replace Abdul, and then there is Kara who thinks she has to tell a story everytime it is her turn to judge.  I guess we will just have to wait and see.  Maybe they should get us to vote on it?

Anyways, I wish the winner the best of luck and I'm sure I will see their new single on the #1 charts on Itunes.  I hope they will enjoy their new car that they are getting!

Up to Date

Well we now enter May.  Wow how time flies!!  I don't even remember when my last post was about.  But that means alot more to talk about here!!

I mainly haven't posted because of my new job.  I started last Thursday.  I have only worked two days so far, but what I have worked, I have trained.  I'm starting to figure things out nicely.  I'm having a few hard things to deal with here and there, but nothing really to worry about.  I don't work til this Friday, and I feel like it will take forever to get here.  I know, usually people dread going into work, but I just want to make sure that I can do everything perfectly before I get to that point.

Now on to other things.  Did I even mention about last week's episode of Law and Order: Criminal Intent?  I don't think so.  Well anyways, it was a really good episode.  The new cast is working better than I thought.  But after really good ratings from two episodes ago, this one dropped to all new lows.  Really bad for this new season.  But I do expect some really good episodes to come, so dont give up yet!!

Siobhan Magnus left the stage last week after her very poor performance of a song by Shania Twain on American Idol.  I mean, seriously, the song was very bad.  It would have been either Chrystal leaving, or her.  And it was her.  Don't get me wrong, I liked her.  I liked her version of 'Paint it Black'.  But it was her time to go.

Delta Goodrem appeared in a performance this week with Andrea Bocelli at his concert in Singapore.  Pictures have been posted throughout twitter, and she looked AMAZING!!  I look forward to hearing more of her traveling and continuing to prepare for a great album in the USA, and around the world!!

Speaking of Delta, her hubby, Brian Mcfadden, was the figure of a new fansite that was released today.  It is Brian Daily.  It a branch, or a version of the Delta Daily site created by Artin, also moderator of the Delta Goodrem official forum.  Artin and Katie, also a member of DGF, launched the new site today.  It looks really good.  Very classy.  It also features a forum.  I think this is the only BF forum up at the moment, so it is really exciting to see it up.  I have joined and am having fun with it.  Good job Artin and Katie!!

Well I think that is all for today!!  I am glad to catch you all up on my recent events and I hope to update soon!!

No Release

I was going to write a review about Brian Mcfadden's new album, 'Wall of Soundz'.  But it turns out that it isn't going to be released in the USA.  At least not yet.  So that means I get to rant.  Lucky for you.

I really don't understand why the album wasn't released on the USA Itunes.  I mean, Brian said that it would be released worldwide on Itunes April 23rd.  Well it is long past when it should be released.  And nothing.  People are saying that when he says and I quote, "looks like the album will be available on itunes worldwide on day of oz release... so cool" that he really wasn't planning on releasing it right away.

Here is another quote that he says that really doesn't show any sign of a USA release soon.  ""I’m going to go to America. I’m in negotiations at the moment with two companies about getting a deal, so I think that’s going to be the next step, straight after AGT."  You can read the full article here

Not having it released last night was a very big disappointment for me.  I don't know why, but I was really looking for it.  His single 'Just say so' and 'Mistakes' featuring Delta Goodrem really got me excited.

I'm not going to stop trying to get my hands on this album.  Who knows, maybe it will be released later on today, or maybe Tuesday.  But I'm telling ya, it is a real disappointment when the artist says that it will be released worldwide on one day and then it never happens.

Don't get me wrong, Brian is a good artist and I respect his work.  I would be this way with any artist.  When it IS released, I'll do a proper review.  What I have heard so far from it, it is a pretty amazing album!!

Talk to you all soon!

Recap

Well guys, I have returned!! It has felt so long since my last talk with you all. To be honest I felt like I was in a diffrent world in Florida. I didn't realize it, but I really needed this trip.

It started off when I walked in the chorus room dressed in my pj's, ready to go. After a couple of hours of waiting and rehearsing, we got on the road. It wasn't long after rolling that I felt like a new person. I felt like I could just let myself loose and really be the Tyler that I am.

I thought the bus would be more comfy though. It was clearly not suited for night travel. I think I got only 4 hours of sleep on the ride down, if that much. Everybody was on top of each other and nowhere to spread out, especially when the guy beside you is double your weight.

Let's not forget the tension as well. We had this whole spill about equality among the band and choir. And then when the choir was split among the two buses, people got angry and said things that I'm sure they will regret in the future. Apparently I was the leader of this "Mutiny" by signing my name first for the non-choir bus. Sorry folks, but I choose the one that appears more convient.

We began the next day by getting up from the little sleep we had and going to Magic Kingdom. That day formed the group that I was with for the remainder of the trip. We went everywhere, including Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean. And then the night on the park ended with a wonderful fireworks show and a huge downpour on the way back to the buses.

I surely didn't get any sleep on this trip. Although our hotel was huge, now on my top ten, and was able to fit 4 guys into their own beds, the guy sleeping near me snored enough for 20 people. The next day I threatened to slap him every time he snored afterwards. He didn't afterwards...

Now the next day was when we performed. We watched all the Jazz band and Marching band perform, and then we performed at one of the resorts. We had a really good time performing, and it was possibly our best performance yet. One of the judges then came up to us to do a 15-minute clinic. Funny thing was that he wanted me to act like a 700 pound man to get a certain note to feel a certain way. And I was like, Uh really?

Then the last day was at Hollywood Studios. Most of us went to audition at the American Idol experience. Sadly, none of us made it, including my director and the band director. I'm sure some of us sounded good, but they were also probably looking for stage presence, attitude. My judge said that they really look at the first 5 seconds of the audition to tell how strong our voices are . Of course they didn't tell me that before I auditioned with a mellow and soft Delta Goodrem song!

We spent the rest riding many such as Tower of Terror and Rockin' Roller Coaster. All were great, but oh how I hate Tower of Terror. I don't understand how people love to feel like they are free falling. I had to ride it again for our group picture later that day, and oh how I hated it.

Then this was probaly the most exciting part of the trip. We went to the stadium where they held the stunt show for our awards ceremony. And the host wanted 2 representatives from each group to come down and accept the awards instead of the directors. And our picked myself and my friend to be the Bnats representatives to accept it. I had never felt so honored and nervous at the same time. See, this wasn't just a few hundred. There were at least 3-4000 people there. Talk about intimidating. But when we got called we waved at the crowed and accepted it. We only got a excellency, but only because the scoring is diffrent there than in NC.

After that we got on the bus and boy was I tired. I fell asleep shortly afterwards, and only woke up a few times, suprisingly. And then I wound up here in NC.

Well I guess thats all I have to say about my recap. This was truly the best trip I have had with my schoolmates. It was sad to come back, but I could not wait to get back in my own bed. It's good to be back and we will return to regular programming...haha!

Shaken

Do you like my new profile picture? I thought it was time for a new one. It's been what, over a year since you have seen a new picture of me? Oh well, there isn't really anything new to look at.

It has been 3 days since my last post, and it feels like mere minutes. It has all gone by so fast. I tested negative for Celiac Disease. I am now relieved, but when I first heard, I was stricken with shock. It fit every one of my symptoms, and I had started to feel better. They then wanted to test me for Cystic Fibrosis. And I was like are you serious? The night before my test, I was really worried. Testing for something like that is no laughing matter. But I went there and got tested and within the hour I got a negitive result as well. What a load off my back.

They now say that I just need excercise and weight gainers. Who would of figured? I have since taken myself off of that gluten free diet. You can tell that I have felt better emotionally since then. I can now actually endure my friends again. I started working out two days ago, and lets just say that it is interesting. But on the plus side, it is fun to work out to Delta Goodrem songs and gaining an appettite. Still having some weight trouble, but I'm going to go buy some of that protein stuff at the store today.

On a diffrent note; alot of people are waking up to many earthquakes going on right now. Chile had a 8.8 earthquake, following dozens of aftershocks. The entire pacific is under tsunami warnings, including Hawaii. And another earthquake hit Argentina. So we all need to keep watching on this developing story.

She's Back!!

This isn't really a common way that I post on blogs, but I feel that this needs to be posted for today's blog since she is my idol and inspiration.

"DELTA Goodrem is packing her bags and preparing to move to the US.
The singer confided to friends a long-held plan of relocating long-term to the West Coast of America to work with some of that country's top songwriters as part of a reinvigorated push to crack the US market.

Record industry sources report Goodrem has responded to criticism that she has become idle waiting for success to come to her by going on the front foot and showing she is ready to commit to the chase.

The singer was last month said to have begun cleaning out the mansion she rents with fiancee Brian McFadden in Hunters Hill.

Sources report that as part of the clean-out she labelled up a huge mountain of clothing for a garage sale. Neither her record label Sony nor management would comment when asked about her relocation plans yesterday.

McFadden has been in Los Angeles working on his own new album release and apparently searching for a base for the couple.

"This year will definitely be a year where she spends a lot of time songwriting in the US," her rep Jen Fontaine said.

"She is prepared to spend a lot of time over there but I wouldn't say it was permanent.

"She has been back and forth a lot in recent times and she is prepared to spend as much time there as necessary to make this album but she retains interests here."

Goodrem is also said to have cut her hair in anticipation of the workload ahead."

Oh my gosh, I am so excited!!! It feels like her new album is coming very soon!! I'm very happy I got to post this today. Let me know what you are thinking about Delta's future projects!!

Choice

Ah, 8 consecutive posts, and I ruined it last night!! I'm so ashamed at myself!! I went to watch Avatar last night and after I got home it was just way too late for me to even think about blogging.

To cut the story short about Avatar; I thought it was the best movie of the year so far, and was filled with great effects. I'm not sure if I would have judged it for it being standard or 3D. But it was pretty good!! I hear that they want to make a sequel. I would be very disappointed if they made one because I think it was perfect the way it left off.

So I found out today in my B-Naturals class that I would need to pick a song for our Listening discussion day. All 17 of us would pick a song, play it, and then discuss it. I think it is a great way to be introduced to new and different music. Its a very hard for me to pick out songs though. I have alot of favorites and I try to pick the perfect one so people would be impressed with my choice. Below are the songs and a discription of why I picked them.

Burn for You by tobyMac- I was introduced to this song about a week ago. By the sound of it for the first time, you expect it to be one of those rap, degrading songs. I found out that it is actually a Christian song by a Christian artist. When I started to really listen to the lyrics I was very impressed. Certainly one of my favorite Hip Hop/Rap songs!

Something to Hope For by The Undeserving- I found this song by a random search from Itunes. Strangely enough, thats how I find alot of the best songs. I find this song very motivating. It says that after trouble and caos, to keep fighting because there is still something to hope for. This was CNN's theme during the Haiti crisis and I think it is perfect for it.

Not Me, Not I (Live) by Delta Goodrem- Obviously this would be my first pick to let them listen tomorrow. But the whole class expects me to pick a Delta Goodrem song so I have to prove them wrong. But this was on my list because I love how Delta sings live. I have to say that I think she sings wonderfully live, even though I think her songs are a work of brilliance. She adds new flavor to her songs live and it makes you enjoy it.

Breakeven by The Script- This song is very catching and very easy to become a favorite. The leader has such an interesting voice. I love the high notes that he can produce and be able to do it multiple times. The lyrics are very meaningful and is worth hearing.

On Fire by Switchfoot- Some people say that Switchfoot adds a religious message to their songs, and I would have to agree with them. It is very hard to describe, but it really makes you look back on your life.

Everybody Loves Me by Onerepublic- Onerepublic has been one of my favorite groups for a good while. They were able to impress me with their sophmore album. 'All the right moves' wasn't able to make a lasting impact compared to 'Apologize' I think, but it really was a good return into the music industry. And we look at ELM, which provides a catchy, yet random feeling to it. But certainly very good.

Due to my lack of being able to choose a song quickly, I turned the decision to my sister. I knew that Delta, tobyMac, and Switchfoot would be the last on her list because I have exposed her to Delta way too much, and is not familiar with Switchfoot. Her decision was Something to Hope for. I had originally picked this song as well so great minds think alike.

Well this is a rather quick post for today. I wanted to bump this thought up first because it was fresh in my mind. If I have impressed you with any of these songs, I encourage you to check them out. They are certainly going to make a lasting impressing on you.

Until we meet again...
