As a late birthday gift to myself, I decided to buy the new The Force Unleashed II game that was released Oct. 26. I was very excited about this new game because the first game was what I would call one of the best games of all time, with one of the best storylines of the Star Wars Saga. I was so excited that I even decided to go and get it in between classes.
So, I rush home right after class and go to play it. It is amazing! The graphics are way better than the last game, the new force powers are great, and you get to weild two lightsabers! What can get better than that.
Just one little problem. The game and storyline was so short that I finished the game the day after I got it! I think it took me several weeks to beat the first game, which is telling you something. And don't say that I played it nonstop without blinking, because I didn't. I took long breaks in between playing it, and I still beat it with ease.
I keep looking to see that I have more to play, but I can't seem to find it. I even looked the game up, and sources say that the storyline is very short, which makes me believe that this is it. Which is sad, because I paid $50 for only a day of entertainment.
And the game leaves you on a cliffhanger. You think that the game is going to continue, but then if just stops out of the blue. That only tells me that there will be a third game. But with a short game like this, I think they could fit in a whole other game in there.
I hate to say it, but I give this game a 6/10 just because of how short it was. And based on this recent game, I wish they just had left it with just the first game. They made the first game so perfect, so why try to extend it? All I can say is that I hope they make the next game seriously long because I want more of a game than what I just played.

Legacy of the Force
I didn't know how many people were so outraged about the new cast for Law and Order Criminal Intent. On the USA forums, there is tons of outrage and many are refusing to watch next week's show. And then there are rumors that Goldblum and Burrows are having problems making this new team work, and then there is word that Erbe may even return after they made her leave. So much speculation.
Okay, enough of that for now. For now I wanted to do my review on the Legacy of the Force series that I just finished reading not too long ago. This series takes place after the time of the New Jedi Order Series and the Dark Nest trilogy. It is a 9 book series, a lot smaller than the 19-21 book series that NJO offered.
Spoilers!!!
Mainly this series consists of the downfall of Jacen Solo, later to be titled as Darth Caedus. When the planet Corellia refuses to accept terms by the Galatic Alliance government, they rebel, causing a new civil war. The Jedi get involved, then the mysterious Sith Lady, Lumiya, makes contact with Jacen, and tells him of the way to bring peace to the galaxy. The sith way.
He uses the sith way to help him imagine a galaxy full of peace, and a safe place for his lover, Tenal Ka, and his secret daughter, Allana solo.
From the beginning you begin to see his rise to fame from just normal Jedi Knight to colonel, head of Galactic Alliance Guard, to Joint Cheif-of-State. Within each book, he falls closer to the dark side until he reaches the climax point, and kills Mara Jade Skywalker, Luke Skywalker's wife, after she discovers what he has become.
That then makes things personal for Luke and his son, Ben. They are focused on finding Mara's killer, while having to face the opposition of Jacen's guard, and fighting a war and trying to maintain a Jedi Order. Ben is certain that Jacen is the killer, while Luke is too consumed by his grief to see the truth. Later on closer to the end, Ben has the necessary proof to show Luke and is able to point the finger at Jacen.
By this point, Jacen is now Joint Chief-of-State, and has proclaimed himself Darth Caedus. The Jedi have lost whatever control that they had on Jacen, making him almost unstoppable. Jaina, Jacen's twin sister, then realizes that she is the one that must bring him down, and she cannot do it with the Jedi techniques that she is so used to. So she travels to the world of Mandalore, and seeks teachings from the Mandalore, the one and only, Boba Fett.
After training and regrouping with the order, Jaina and her family team up with the Madalorians and other parsts of the galaxy to take down Jacen Solo once and for all. And after a very grusome battle, she finally defeats him and kills him. They are consumed by brief, but there is a shining star left that ends the story nicely. We see that Allana Solo has survived the final battle and is put into Leia and Han Solo's care. The one happy thought of a very heartbreaking tale.
Overall, I thought the story was great!! It shows you that even the best can fall for what seems like the right reasons. You get to see the Jedi at it's peak in years, and you get to see them struggle to maintain what they have fought for for so many years!! A very nice series to read, although I think you need to read NJO and Dark Nest before you can dig into this one.
Well that seems to be my review for today. Stay tuned for my opinion of yesterday's American Idol results, and the continuing controversy of the Law and Order Criminal Intent series!

Star Wars
My 3rd post in a row! Aren't you proud of me! I am blogging in the midst of a winter storm. Thats right, I am in the Carolina area and since around One this afternoon, we have recieved two inches of snow. I sit here and continue to watch it pour. And this is "real" snow. Not like that soggy crap we always get. Ah well...moving on.
Star Wars has been around for the past 40 years or so. And it has pretty much been a part of my whole life. I remember when I was very young the trilogy was being rereleased. My uncle would take me and watch each movie, then would go out to Walmart or Taco Bell and get a Star Wars figurine.
Since then Lucas has released the prequels (which I didn't know was apart of the classic's storyline until my 6th grade year). It gave us a sense of how the Jedi were back before the Empire exterminated them. As well as the government that Palatine was able to break down.
I think Lucas did a very good job on putting all of the movies into a well rounded package. And sense then there have been numerous tv shows and books and games dedicated to both prequel and classic era.
There have been two diffrent clone war series. Both are kinda cheesy since the age targeted is little kids, but they do provide new details into the plot. Some famous games are of course SW Battlefront 1 & 2 as well as Jedi Outcast and Knights of the Old Republic. And my favorite of all of them; the books.
As I told you in my last post, I have spent the previous and current year reading the books that expand past the classic era. I don't want to give too many details but they included the gang plus Leia's political journey and Luke's attempts to reborn the Jedi order, as well as the kids they have with their significant others. And then there has been major wars including the Yuzhaan Vong (no idea how that is spelled) and the Dark nest.
Last night I completed the Exile book from the Legacy of the Force series and I have moved onto the Sacrifice book from the same series.
There is another part that I am wanting to talk about, but I will elaborate in my next post.
Wow has time flown. The snow is still falling and more on the way. I'll probably be posting the other part to this post tonight sense I won't have anything to do and I'll die of boredom.
