Bullied

This month, we have seen another teen take his own life because of bullying.  Jamey Rodemeyer was only 14, and talked numerous times of the hardship that bullies put on him because he was gay.  He blogged about his struggles, and showed inspiration towards one individual that is now making a nationwide effort to make bullying illegal.  And once again the question arises; when will people accept each other and end this hate?

Jamey made his troubles known through his blog, a lot during the past month that indicated that things were wrong.  "I always say how bullied I am, but no one listens...What do I have to do so people will listen to me?"  and "No one in my school cares about preventing suicide, while you're the ones calling me and tearing me down."  He posted alot of lyrics before posting two final messages, one talking about seeing his dead great-grandmother, and thanking Lady Gaga.  He was found dead outside from suicide later.

Many have mourned for his loss, his mother saying, "He touched so many hearts, so many people...I didn't realize how many people he touched. He was the sweetest, kindest kid you'd ever know. He would give all his heart to you before he gave any to himself."  A friend named Olivia said, "He was always putting people first...He always wanted other people to smile, even on the worst of his days."

But some have made it know that they were not a fan of Jamey, posting hate messages on his Formspring account a year ago: "JAMIE IS STUPID, GAY, FAT ANND UGLY. HE MUST DIE" and "I wouldn't care if you died. No one would. So just do it :) It would make everyone WAY more happier!"  Many more messages were on there, but a lot of his friends went to his defense.

This isn't the first time this has been a case.  We saw the tragic suicide of Tyler Clementi close to a year ago, which brought much uproar towards the haters in America.  Many have followed since then, showing the severety of the issue.  And at the same time of Clementi's death, people such as Bishop Eddie Long were making headlines, such as their hypocritcal claims agains Gay Marriage.  You can read all about that in my previous posts: Outrage and Sickened.

But this week, the person that Jamey thanked for everything is now fighting back against bullying.  Lady Gaga was one of the last to hear from him, with a tweet saying, "@ladygaga bye mother monster, thank you for all you have done, paws up forever."

Lady GaGa has stormed Twitter, tweeting to her 13 million followers: "The past days I've spent reflecting, crying, and yelling. I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someones life...Jamey Rodemeyer, 14 yrs old, took his life because of bullying. . Bullying must become be illegal. It is a hate crime...I am meeting with our President. I will not stop fighting. This must end. Our generation has the power to end it."

The web has been on fire ever since, with many joining the fight with Lady Gaga to end bullying and make it illegal.  It makes me sick that people think that they can say whatever they want to whoever they want, and not to expect it to impact them in a bad way.  And I hope that with the anger and sadness we feel, we can all join together and make sure that this doesn't happen again.  I pledge to join the fight...will you?

In This Week...

This week has seen some many things occur.  This week we have seen the return of the popular "Two and a Half Men" with the anticipated arrival of Ashton Kutcher, premiering with record breaking ratings.  We also saw the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, with many servicemen and women stepping out into the light, one in particular going viral.  And we also see Delta Goodrem's "Worst-dressed" moment, with her boyfriend announcing some upcoming songs.

The return of "Two and a Half Men" reached record numbers, partly to see the reaction to the death of Charlie Sheen's character, and partly to see the anticipated arrival of Ashton Kutcher.  28 million people tuned in, making the already popular show even more well-known.  But many wonder if the show can maintain these ratings.  Fans are divided, some saying that the show should be cancelled ASAP while some says that the show still has a future.  I have never seen the show, but because of the hype that Charlie Sheen created with his breakdown and WB firing him, I may decide to join the fans in watching it.  And right now would be a great time to jump into the show if you haven't watch it yet.  But do you think the show can last without Charlie Sheen?  Only time will tell...

One individual has stepped out as one of the first openly gay members in the service after the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell.  Tens of thousands have been waiting for this moment, and now is their moment to shine.  But this individual has made his moment public with a video on Youtube that has went viral.

The video has gained millions of views, currently close to 2 million views and counting.  The previous videos that he released gained thousands of views since the release as well.  The video revealed the man who has made headline news, and has been anonymous this whole time. He has gotten inspiring messages from viewers, saying, "You have a lot of courage. Thank God for the good support from your father. Sorry about the haters. Peace." You can follow him and his other messages at @areyousuprised.

And now for you Delta fans, we have all seen Delta arrive in South America with Nick Jonas while he tours. But we realized how closely she is watched by fans and the press when this photo appeared and probably the worst moment Delta could be caught in:

My first reaction was that she had just got out of the bed and was being dragged into the car. But we believe that she is either coming from or going to the beach. Other fans felt the same way, some saying, "She needs to fire her stylist and get a new one pronto. Good lord" and "That last one looks like she's in a hospital gown.. sounds like Fashion Police in here today." This just goes to show how much people watch what you do and what you wear when you date a Jonas Brother.

And to top it off, Nick Jonas made another announcement, saying that he is ready to present some new music. He posted this on Twitter: "I think I'm gonna premiere some brand new music tonight at the show... Would that be ok with you guys?" I know I have already said this before, but do you think it is possible for the new material to feature Delta or written by Delta? I sure hope so, because I am waiting to hear something new from her.

So that is a LOT of things to discuss from this week. And lots of different things to cover as well. Some things more imortant and inspirational than others. So for any topic that appealed to you, what do you think about it?

Idiots

I'll let you be the judge on whether "Idiot" is the right term for these people.  Last night, 8 canidates for the GOP Presidential Nomination appeared on the Republican Debate.  Brian Williams was the moderator, with questions that everyone has wanted to ask the GOP hopefuls.  I am a proud Democrat, but I watched to see who would be the best contender for President Obama for the 2012 election.  But from what I saw, not many brought their game.

The two stars were former Gov. Mitt Romney and Gov. Rick Perry.  Both attacked each other on job creations, Homeland Security and Social Security, with other canidates attacking Perry on other issues.  Perry picked on Romney, saying "Michael Dukakis created jobs three times faster than you did, Mitt."  Romney bounced right back with, "George Bush and his predecessors created jobs at a faster rate than you did."

Perry, who is leading in the polls (suprisingly to me), appeared to be in the center of the battlefield.  In the midst of the debate, he said, "I kind of feel like the piƱata here at the party."  And with good reason Perry.  He stood by his statements in his book "Fed Up", saying that Social Security was a "Ponzi scheme", wanting to rid of Homeland Security, and making an executive order for young girl to get vaccinated against HPV.  Romney, Ron Paul and Michelle Bachmann united against Perry on this issue, saying it is the responsibility of the parents to make the call on vaccinations.

But Perry wasn't the only one disappointing with their remarks.  Ron Paul, an early favorite of mine, said that the TSA is "Abusive" and accusing FEMA of being a worthless bureaucracy.  Michelle Bachmann kept yelling "Repeal Obama Care!" without actually revealing a plan to replace the healthcare plan she wanted to be repealed.  She also promised that she could get gas to $2 a gallon if she was president, while Paul promised gas for 10 cents per gallon.  Things like these seemed beyond reality, and just turned me off.

But there was one canidate that caught my eye was Jon Huntsman, who really didn't get that much attention during the debate.  But everything he said seemed to outrun everything Perry and Romney said.  When the debate of Evolution and Global Warming came up, he said, "when you call into question the science of evolution, all I'm saying is that, in order for the Republican Party to win, we can't run from science."

He also mentioned the emotional upcoming 9/11 Anniversary, "I think one way to commemorate our ten-year anniversary of 9/11, remembering the 3,000-plus people who died in New York and in Pennsylvania and in Washington, is to say it's time for this country to set a goal for ourselves: We're going to get our core fixed. We're going to do some nation-building right here at home."

So as you can tell, there were very few canidates that I was impressed with.  I don't think that many canidates really know how to get today's problems fix in America, nor do I think some are capable.  I do know that if people continue to believe in Perry, who is the popular one in the polls, then this country will go to hell in a handbasket.

But to sum all of this all up, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg has made this several times this week, and I would have to agree with him.  He said we need to put our differences aside, and help the president we have now, instead of being devided and focusing on canidates that can't do anything about our problems until a year or more from now.  I hope you Republican canidates think about that instead of saying that they will do whatever it takes to defeat President Obama.

Nelta News?

For the past few months, many Delta fans have waited for any word of future music being released to her fans.  And I'm sure that Nick fans are hoping for word about what future projects that he will be working on.  And we all know that they have worked on several songs together before and since the beginning of their relationship.  But after tweets from Nick, a question is rising in my head...is something big for Delta and Nick about to happen that will reenter them into the music market?

While Delta and Nick have not official come out about their relationship yet, it has become very clear that they are together by noticing the many songs written by the both of them, plus the intimate photos that we have seen.  And while Nick doesn't mention Delta by name, he does mention a woman that makes him very happy and someone that cares for him.  And the latest intimate photo from Los Cabos, Mexico shows as much:

So back to my suspicions about the possible future of Delta and Nick's music careers.  Honestly, I think that they will tour and possibly promote their music together.  And one thing that I think will help with this is a possible duet between the two of them.  But these questions arose when Nick posted two tweets to his 3.2 million followers over the past 6 days, indicating that something big is in the works:

"Hey everyone... So many exciting things happening! Can't wait wait to share it all with you.  ; )" and "I'm getting so excited about sharing my big news with all of you! Who thinks they know what it is? : )"

Many fans are speculating a new album, a Jonas Brothers reunion...or rumors of getting married (please dear God don't let this be it!)  While I think the possibility of Delta and Nick getting married is far away from now, and the brothers reunion unlikely (Because of Joe's solo career shooting off), I think a new album is possible...with the chance that Delta could be featured on it.

We know for certain of two songs written by both Delta and Nick, titled "Reaching For Something" and "This Is Where We Belong".  Either one could easy be a duet, and may be the foundations for a tour between the two of them.  But how likely is this?

To me, I think this is very likely.  Right now, Delta is getting alot of press (Most of it not portraying her in the light as us Delta fans see her) among Jonas fans all over the world.  And both have held off on releasing anything new, Delta's latest release being in 2008 in the USA, and Nick's in 2010.  And I think this is certainly possible because of maybe unexpected changes, due to the news of Delta's album not yet finished, when it was said to be done and released the middle of 2011.

While both Delta and Nick fans don't approve of this set up, it does give Delta a possible advantage to breaking in the USA market, something she has tried for years.  Touring, releasing or even featuring with a big American star such as Nick Jonas would create the process of reaching to fans easier than it was when she tried to crack the market in 2008.  And while I agree with the many Delta fans on not wanting another duet in the near future, I do think that releasing a duet would help her in the market.

So the question still remains: Is the big news concerning both Nick and Delta?  I hope it does, simply because I want to hear SOMETHING.  Fans haven't heard anything in awhile, and we are desperate for any news.  I don't care if it is touring dates together, or a musical release, I just want to hear it and I want to hear it now!  Please tell us when we can hear something Delta and Nick!

So do you think this is the big news?  And do you agree with me that it would help Delta and Nick reenter the markets?  Make sure you post your thoughts!

Hopefully everything will become clear soon, and we will be able to enjoy some new music!

Dirty Secrets

Happy Labor Day!  Hoping it is filled with exciting things going on!  Yesterday I was browsing through the Twitter trending topics and I noticed "Dirty Bieber Secrets" was trending.  As you can tell, the topic was about Justin Beiber, and the source of all of this surrounds this blog called Just Beautiful Me.  If you asked me what it is all about, I couldn't tell you.  There is so much stuff on there I can't tell what was making the comotion.  And I'm thinking, "Do people only have time to talk about "Dirty Secrets?""

And now that I think about it, I think not only should we talk about Dirty Secrets, but it should be encouraged.  You must think I'm crazy.  But that trending topic, and an emotional show called "If You Really Knew Me..." really got me thinking of all the different things that could happen if people told the world their own dirty little secret.  Whether it be a celebrity telling a little secret to give great laughs, or a person in a lot of need to get something off their chest, and saving themselves from the brink of suicide.

Think of it like the popular site "Post Secret" and the music video for The All American Rejects' "Dirty Little Secret" where they express themselfs by telling something very personal, whether funny or dark, and feeling much better for it.

I am calling for today to be "Expose Your Dirty Secret" day.  Everyone, celebrities, politial leaders, and even you should post your dirty little secret on here.  And you are probably thinking, "He must be crazy!"  Well I'm not.  If you watch the show "If You Really Knew Me..." they expose everything to each other, and realize that everybody is the same and have their own mistakes and nobody is better than the other.  That EVERYONE is equal!

And that is what I want to do today.  In this world, right now, there are people out there that think they are lower, or higher or better than the next person.  And some think that since they are so low, they should end their life, or think about it numerous times.  But we are all the same, and this is where I want to prove that!  And the bright thing about this is that with the internet, everything is anonymous.

So right now, I want you to scroll to the bottom of this page.  I want you to post your dirty little secret to the world.  I'll leave it up to you if you want to say who you are or not.  You have that right, and that may even be uplifting to you, or the others around you.  And after you post it, I want you to see if you don't feel any better about yourself, or even if you may laugh at yourself for how silly it may be.  Trust me on this, I think it will work.

So I am calling on the big celebrities to help me out with this!  Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Delta Goodrem, Brian McFadden, Lance Bass...whoever you are!  Help the world show that we are all equal, and whether it is funny, or deep and powerful, that someone who may feel outcasted is not at all.  They are just a part of the bigger picture!

Post this on Facebook or Twitter and let's see how successful this will be!
