Eclipse

So here I sit, and it is 2:30 in the morning, and all I could think of is come here and talk about the new Twilight crave: Eclipse.  Really, I should be asleep right now, resting up for my glorious tooth filling that I will undergo bright and early tomorrow morning.  After working a 15 hour shift, I was suddenly in my car and on my way to the midnight showing.  I was literally 20 minutes before the movie started.

Okay people, here is the review.  Probably one of the earliest ones out right now.  Yay for me!  The movie was okay.  It was like the book, it wasn't enough to send me straight back and read the book again.  Luckily for me, when I finished the book years ago, I had Breaking Dawn to sorta wash over the boredom.  Since I read the book, I thought that it really was just a fill-in.  I never though it served much purpose.  I also thought that killing the main villian since the first book/movie, Victoria, was really a major shift in the story line.

In every storyline, Star Wars has Darth Vader/Sith, Harry Potter has Lord Voldemort, and then you go and have numerous villians in this Twilight series at random times.  Oh I'm sorry, I think I got a bit off track.

Of course, the girls giggled at shirtless Jacob and the sex teases, and the guys, like myself, squinched at the makeout sessions, and what looked like a "very close" conversation between Jacob and Edward up on the mountain.  Remind you of anything in particular?  Haha, I just couldn't resist by putting that in there.

But, I do think they made up that mushy stuff in the action.  It probably had the most action out of all 3 of the movies.  I did enjoy the vampires and warewolfs fighting in fast motion.

Overall, I thought it was a good movie.  It wasn't good enough to want me to come straight home and read the book again, but hey, it was something nice to watch.  Probably wouldn't do the midnight showing again though.

Anyways, changing topics, if you do go see the movie, make sure to check out the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows trailer.  That trailer alone will make you want to drop your current book, read Deathly Hallows over again.  Believe me, I know.  If you haven't seen it, you should certainly check it out on Youtube!!

Well guys, I hope I provided you a good enough review, and I look forward to see how the movie actually did!

Worked Out

Wow, this week feels like it has gone by so slowly, but it also feels like a blur.  This week, I worked a total of 69 recorded hours.  To be honest, I also put alot more hours in at home, but sadly, I don't be paid for it.  I feel like I have worked so hard that I now need to start walking on the side of my feet since they hurt so bad.

This week, I started my training for my second job, Summer Edventure Camp.  I quickly learned that this job was no way how I expected it.  It turns out that you have to be trained and certified in almost anything while working for a day care environment.  CPR, First Aid, Epipens, Blood Born Pathogens, Sanitation, Food regulation, and Playgroud saftey was just a few courses that I had to become certified in.

And let us not forget just the regular job itself.  I of course have the hardest job, Legos.  Some of you may think that it is fun, but you should try and work it.  The first day of working with them I spent pretty much 9 hours just sorting the legos out.  Thousand and thousands of them were all over the place.  Myself, and 2 other people finally got it all sorted out.  Now my next task was getting the parts made into kits.  That was another whole day chore.

Now my next task is to finally figure out what I'm going to do with the class.  I have very old software that I have to install into a semi-old computer just to see how to do what.  And then I start doing these classes on Tuesday.  I probably could have had an extra few days to work on it, but I think my activity was the last thing people wanted to help me on.  So once again I have to take it upon myself to do it at home....and on a Sunday.

And then there is my other job.  I put in 22 hours there within two days.  I was only supposed to work 14 hours, but I was asked to work another eight hours yesterday.  Oh well, my manager seemed grateful for working it.

Ah, well that has been my week.  Very stressful, very tiring, but it keeps the money rolling.

I haven't been able to check lately, but how do you like the new 'Thunder' series?  I know it may seem cut up at times, but it's to prevent posting very long posts, and boring you alot.  So please bear with it.  Don't forget the a new segment comes out every Friday!!

Thunder: Chapter 1.5

He quickly ran downstairs. But when he reached the bottom of the stairs, he stopped. He spotted the picture that always made his skin burn. It was a picture of his mother and father and himself, looking so happy, and filled with love.

The picture was taken a few years back. It was on their anniversary. It was taken at the same place they met each other. Lance was also in the picture. They were one happy family. Lance’s parents first met at the beachside of Canton, and they connected automatically, just by looking into each others eyes . It wasn’t a few months until they got married. Not too long after that, they had Lance.

Lance’s father, Jason, was a very well respected doctor (and a very wealthy one I might add). He was a tall man, and had the black, greasy hair that Lance inherited. He was a very bold person, and in a way, he was fearful. But he never did show anger.

And his mother, Carrie, was a beautiful woman, who made every man wish that she was married to him instead of his wife. She was a beautiful blonde headed woman, with bright blue eyes, which Lance also inherited and an attractive smile. She always was happy, and cared for her husband and her son dearly. She was also a very respectable principal at the Mars Canton High School.

They were the perfect family. They had wealth, and love. It seemed like nothing could go wrong. Then when Lance was eleven, his father up and about walked out on them. He said that he was looking for something more. But that didn’t seem like the true story.

According to the word on the street, he was involved in one of the big drug scandals of the time in Canton. And they also said that he had a few romantic flings on the side. And that he managed to flee the city before he faced a lot of trouble. Carrie wasn’t really surprised about this. She suspected such things. The only thing she now was concerned about now was for the well being of her son.

Carrie was soon in full control of the Cooper estate. And that was enough to live happily with her son. Four years later, Carrie decided to return to the job that she enjoyed doing so much. It was also a way to keep an eye on Ron now that he was at Mars Canton High.

She and Lance never heard from Jason again after he fled the city. People said that he died of drug over dose, while some said that he changed his name, to escape the criticism of how he betrayed his family and his life that he worked so hard to build.

Before Jason left unannounced, he spoke to Lance. He surprised him with a ring. Lance was surprised. It was sterling silver, and in the middle was a bird-like creature, with a orange gem in the middle.

“What is it?” Lance asked.

“A phoenix”, he replied. And then he continued after seeing his son amused. “Legend says that the phoenix would rise out of the ashes, and live again.” Lance looked confused, but he continued on. “You will understand in time.” He got up and left. That was the last real conversation that Lance and Jason had together.

Thunder: Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Only a Dream

It was a beautiful morning. The sun was slowly trying to rise. The image looked like a classic painting painted from long ago. Not many would appreciate the image. The cool crisp air was just beginning to warm up. The city of Canton was quiet, but that wouldn’t last for long.

Then the image slowly pointed towards the Canton Financial Center, the tallest building in Canton. The tower left a shadow all over the city. The people of Canton took great pride in it. It symbolized the city’s financial stability.

Then the image started to rise. It felt like going up an elevator. Looking from above, you could see a figure on top, a man. Who was he, and why was he standing on the edge?

And then the image got closer to the man. The identity of the man would be revealed. Only a few more seconds. The image slowly got to the top of his boots and then…

Lance Cooper suddenly arose from his bed, by the sound of his alarm clock. His breathing was heavy, sounding like he just ran a mile on the school track. He was trembling from the excitement, sweat also gleaming off his forehead and chest. The exciting dream that he had was just unbearable.

What a dream, he thought. But he couldn’t help but wonder. Who was that man? Why was he there? What did it all mean? A vision maybe? It brought so many questions to his mind. It felt so real. He knew it meant something.

But he soon put it out of his head. It was only a dream. Nothing more. He soon turned his head to look at the object that ruined the best moment of his life. It was seven o’clock. He had slept in. He would have to rush through getting dressed and eat breakfast so that he could make it to school on time.

He ran into his closet to find a set of clothes thrown on the floor. They looked clean enough for him. He put them on and ran on to the next task.

Since Lance was one of the most popular guys in the school, his “friends” expected a lot out of him. He had to have the best type of clothes, the best type of car, best phone, and best of everything. But there was something different about Lance than the other “preps”. He cared more about the people around him, than he cared about himself, which was rarely seen in the eyes of a very popular person.

And when he was helping the “other” people, he wasn’t just helping his friends, who could turn on him any minute, but the people who were less fortunate, more caring. The people who couldn’t quite get enough money for lunch, or when they couldn’t get a ride home, or someone who needed a friend in a time of need. So you could say that he was a friend with everybody.

Lance looked at himself in the mirror. He looked good, he thought to himself. He had his beach necklace around his neck, which fit snug, and his hair was spiked just perfectly. His black hair just glowed with the hair gel, and the light that was just beaming on it. He also picked up the ring that he took off his finger to wash his hands, and he put it on. He was finally ready.

Summer Excitment

Wow, this summer has just started, and already I am exhausted.  Only a day after graduation, I got called in to do a 9-hour shift.  And then yesterday, my mom worked me about twice as hard in half that time.  I finally just had to go and sleep it off, and even oversleep this morning.  But hey, money is money, and I'm sure I'll be getting plenty of it this summer!

Speaking of summer excitement, I have a little suprise for you.  If you enjoyed the Harry Potter series that I published for you guys, you are probably gonna love this.  For the summer season, I plan on airing one of my old book projects that I worked on.

To be more specific, I decided to write a story years ago at one of the most random times.  I have always had an imagination, and one day I decided to write one of those ideas on paper.  Originally, the storyline was to be divided into a three book series.  Well, of course it isn't always that easy.  It is so much easier picturing it in your head, than it is to write it on paper.

After years of working on it after long periods of time, I decided to finally give it up.  Even though I never really said I would never work on it again, I just never had the motivation nor the time to write on it again.

So today, I was thinking of many things for all of you to read that you all might enjoy.  And after thinking of many things, I thought it was about time for people to read the idea I had going.  I managed to complete 36 full pages of this story, with 5 chapters.  But since this is a blog, I will divide up those chapters into smaller amounts to make the storyline more enjoyable to read, and to give you something to look forward to!

Each segment of the story will be published every Friday, so make sure you tune in at that time!!

So what is the plot you ask?  Well, the story is about one teenage boy who takes on the role of hero in his city of Canton.  While he is introduced to a new criminal to the city, he also faces flashbacks from his dark past.  The story also features his family and friends who fight along with him in his journey into unknown territory.

I hope the plot intrests you to read this great story that I am proud to present to you, and I hope to see you this Friday for the premire segment!

Afterwards

Well guys, I am an official graduate of 2010!  There is really no words to describe the feeling.  It is the feeling of relief and insecurity, and excitment and fear sadness all wrapped up in one big box.  But I'm sure I am not the only person going through this in the country.

The best part was that I graduated with honors.  That was something I really didn't expect, but I was perfectly happy to accept.  It wasn't high honors like some got, but hey, I'll take what I can get!  My parents were also very happy when they heard my name and "honors" following it.  They still talk about it even to this minute.

I also got to sing with my friends for the final time yesterday.  The seniors, myself included, sang the national anthem.  That is something not many people get to do in their lifetime, so it is certainly an experience I will treasure forever.

And then of course there was the walk across the line itself,  when they called my name, I felt like I was just crossing the stage to get a paper.  It never felt like I was stepping into this new point, new chapter, new world in my life.  It didn't when I tossed my cap into the air, and neither did it when I was taking pictures with all of my family.  It did hit me when we were all gathered to eat, and I think it hit me hard.

I had help to distract myself though.  I had my cousin from out of town to talk to, and then my sister, cousin and I went to a bonfire thrown by my fellow graduate.  That was fun as well.  All of these things are a great distractions, until you get into the shower and realize you actually graduated and wonder if what you experienced was a dream.

Today I had another distraction by working a 9 hour shift.  But eventually it will finally catch up to me, and I will finally have to realize that I am graduating, and I don't even want to know how I'm going to react.

New Chapter

Well, this is the day.  Today myself, and the rest of my senior class will be graduating today.  Even though the thought of graduating seems frightening and scary, it is also exciting and promising.  And today will be the day when I walk into this new world, and the new chapter in my life will begin.

I remember when I first entered high school as a freshmen.  It was such a scary time.  And I was among the many hundred that were in my shoes, and now, I am on the top of the chain, about to enter this new life on mine.

Some people, throughout their highschool life, think that they will never make their mark a their school, like they were invisible, and will never be noticed later on.  I was one of those people.   But now that I look back, I made a pretty big size of a mark during my past four years.  I was in the elite choir, I was very active in the New Century Scholars program, and even felt that I was the front man for the program.  And then there was also National Honors Society, where I was very active in!

Well, today I will be going in few hours to get my diploma.  I will also be singing the national anthem with my wonderful senior choir members.  And then I will be walking in to this new, unpredictable journey, but I will always have my friends and family to help me walk through this wonderful adventure!

See you after I graduate!

Impactful Memory

So since I am graduating in a few days and all, I thought I would share with you one of my most heart felt essays that I think I have written before my big send off.  Originally, I wrote it for a scholarship.  Since then, I did not recieve the scholarship, but the people who inspired me to write this asked me to read it out to several occasions, one being next week.  The essay's prompt was to write about an event or person that impacted my life the most.  I hope you enjoy!

The event that impacted my life the most occurred when I received a letter announcing that I was nominated by my teachers to join the New Century Scholars program during my 7th grade year. After reading the letter, I felt it was a program that I would have to put a lot of work into, and never really see the rewards that it offered. But after 6 years, it has proven to be a program that has changed my life forever.

This program taught a young, selfish student to learn how to freely give the community countless hours, without really expecting anything in return. True, in the beginning I had my eyes out for the gold, the big prize that I would gain after only six years, and the minimum of sixty hours of service within that time. My attitude turned quickly after learning what the secret, richer prizes were while I was giving my service and time.

The real prize was the feeling of having a heart of gold after committing my time to an individual or organization and feeling that I really made a contribution to that cause. It was more rewarding than money or any sort of physical item could grant you. I then realized that my first impression of this program was very premature and naïve.

Since then, this program has become a vital part of my life. It has taught me to be very responsible and take charge of a situation in every opportunity I could. I also learned to be very organized and precise on how I approached a situation. I worked under the wisdom of two great mentors of the program and respected all the time and inspiration that they put into it. I also found my ability to use this program to make wonderful friends that I will treasure forever.

And even during my current year at Franklin High School, I honored the program by using my senior project to raise money and help give this same one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to so many capable students out in our community. I brought both students and citizens together to show how much of a lasting effect the past six years has left on my heart. Honestly, no words can really express the impact that the project left on me, nor can it even begin to repay for the many hours former students spent to pave a road for my continued education.

I think back six years ago and wonder how my life would be right now if I had turned down my spot in the program. I certainly wouldn’t be here telling you how much New Century Scholars pushed me to the limits, expanded my horizons, and shown how much of a humble community we live in today. I wouldn’t be telling you how I turned from giving my time in exchange for money and personal gain, to spending numerous hours for something that I love and not expect anything in return. Sure, I may be close to reaching that great prize soon, but it will never compare to the life lessons and amazing tales that will stay with me forever.

Disaster in the Gulf

So I have kept my peace about this for some time.  But now, after watching a few things, I realize that I can't hold it in any longer.  That's right BP, you are about to get a mouthful!!

As you can tell, I am talking about the Oil disaster that is going on in the Gulf of Mexico as we speak.  It is now the worst oil spill in our spill, and it continues as we speak.  Millions of gallons have been leaking for the 50 days since the destruction of the oil rig.  Thousands of gallons continue to flow up to the surface as we speak.

This has been on headline news for weeks, and each day the situation continues to get more serious, whether it concerns the amount of oil being spilled, the wildlife that dies every day, or the failed attempts to contain the oil by BP, or the selfish comments that have been said by the executives.  But don't worry, we will talk about that in more detail.

Since the disaster began, BP has made up 3 attempts to stop this leak temporarily until the relief well is drilled.  They started with containment domes, which failed, then they tried their 'Top Kill' plan, which seemed to work,  but then failed, and now this second containment dome which we have yet the see the full effects from.  But, this last attempt will never solve the problem, on the relief well will, and even that is a long shot, according to some.

The relief well won't be ready until early or late August, which will give this oil spill months of continued chaos if this current attempt fails.  I just got a twitter message saying that BP expects to get all of the leaking oil from the floor of the ocean sometime next week, but how much of that can we really believe?

To be honest, we have put too much faith in BP to fix this crisis, and clean up the mess, when it actually seems that everything they do is not accomplishing anything.  And then there is what the CEO said.  He actually said that he "wanted his life back".  Well, I'm sorry for incoveincing you, but wildlife and even people are at risk right now, and it is your job to clean it up!

And then we hear that they are spending millions of dollars on a public relations campaing to I guess do damage control.  Come on BP, your reputation is already down the tube, use that money to help rescue wildlife and assist in the cleanup!

And what really gets me is that they are in charge of accepting the ideas from Americans to see what could clean up the water faster.  And most people get generic responses.  I saw on CNN where this one guy has a awesome idea by putting hay in the water and it would soak up the oil.  He demonstrated it and everything, and Bill Nye The Science Guy said it would actually worked, and he had used it in the past.  But you know what the guy got from BP?  A generic response.  I applaud CNN for showing the good ideas and showing that BP is not doing all it can do.

Besides, I don't even think BP should be in charge of it.  I think the federal government should be in charge of what methods to use to clean all of this up, and give BP the tab.  Don't you agree?

You can probably tell how upset I am about this.  I am a person that wants to preserve life and steer away from all of this stuff that could cause our natural home harm.  And this is a prime example.  All I can say is that when this is over, BP's head will be on a nice, silver platter.

Comment with your ideas on how this spill can be cleaned up!

End of an Era

Well today was my unofficial last day as a highschooler.  Only a few days left before I finally walk the line and enter the real world.  It is a very scary thought, more scary than you can imagine, but I think I can make it through.

Today was my final day in this 3 year era that I have been living in.  I have told you numerous times about the elite choir that I have been in for so long.  If I haven't said the name, it is called the B*Naturals.  It is an audition group with some amazing talent.  I don't have the best voice, but I think that it is good enough to perform with.

So many good things has come from this group.  First of all, it has really gotten me to be more open.  I know that when I first entered the group during my sophmore year, I was really shy and nervous and really didn't know anyone in there.  Now, I am really outgoing and funny and I seem to really connect with everyone with the group.

Over the years, I have seen many people come and go in the program.  Whether it was people graduating, or people who decided to choose a diffrent path while in school.  But there are a few that have stuck with the program since we have been in it.  I know for certain that four of us, including myself, have been in there all 3 years, and was even in the choral department before we got into Bnats.  We have seen eachother grow, and we have seen our director grow as well.

In all honesty, we are a second family to eachother.  We have really great moments where we talk all throughout the night and we hangout at all of the events, and then we have bad moments where we feel that some of us are on the verge of collapse.  But, every time we prevail and we push on through.

I didn't really think about the many stories I had in this group until today.  All of the laughs, the tears, and songs that we have went through during these years.  While the members who are not seniors will be moving on to take our place and lead the group in new and possibly better ways, us seniors will move on to diffrent paths and different preferences, but we will never forget this wonderful experience that we are now able to treasure in our hearts forever.

I know I still have one more performance with them on graduation, but I feel like I am closing a chapter that isn't ready to end.  I guess all things can't last forever...

Favorite 2010 Artist

Okay guys, I have the moment you all have waiting for.  For the past weeks, thousands of votes have been put into a poll to see who is the best artist of 2010.  There were 2405 to be exact.  And votes were for many diffrent artists such as Justin Beiber, Brian Mcfadden, Delta Goodrem, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Lee DeWyze, Jonas Brothers, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, and Lady Antebellum.

Actually, we had quite a battle going on.  There were many fans who really wanted one to win the title.  But sadly only one can win it.  So here are the results, are you ready for it?  Well I won't let you wait any longer.  The winner is:

DELTA GOODREM!!

Yes my friends, Delta won the top spot with 715 votes.  We congratulate her for her big win!  She certainly had competion, and even fell to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place at some points.  But of course, her loyal fans prevailed through.  Let me go ahead and give you the other results:

2nd: Lady Gaga- 619
3rd: Lee DeWyze- 449
4th: Jonas Brothers- 219
5th: Ke$ha- 143
6th: Justin Beiber- 131
7th: Brian Mcfadden- 106
8th: Beyonce- 16
9th: Miley Cyrus- 6
10th: Lady Antebellum- 1

I just wanna say how much fun I had watching the voting take place.  And apparently some of you did as well.  I also wanted to mention the 2 artists that managed some of the biggest jumps in votes in a very short time.  Lady Gaga gained 600 votes in less than 6 hours, with Jonas Brothers gaining 200 overnight.  Way to go!!

Well guys, this was fun.  I will certainly have to find another topic to choose for another poll.  So stay tuned, because you never know when one will be up!!
