Disaster in the Gulf

So I have kept my peace about this for some time.  But now, after watching a few things, I realize that I can't hold it in any longer.  That's right BP, you are about to get a mouthful!!

As you can tell, I am talking about the Oil disaster that is going on in the Gulf of Mexico as we speak.  It is now the worst oil spill in our spill, and it continues as we speak.  Millions of gallons have been leaking for the 50 days since the destruction of the oil rig.  Thousands of gallons continue to flow up to the surface as we speak.

This has been on headline news for weeks, and each day the situation continues to get more serious, whether it concerns the amount of oil being spilled, the wildlife that dies every day, or the failed attempts to contain the oil by BP, or the selfish comments that have been said by the executives.  But don't worry, we will talk about that in more detail.

Since the disaster began, BP has made up 3 attempts to stop this leak temporarily until the relief well is drilled.  They started with containment domes, which failed, then they tried their 'Top Kill' plan, which seemed to work,  but then failed, and now this second containment dome which we have yet the see the full effects from.  But, this last attempt will never solve the problem, on the relief well will, and even that is a long shot, according to some.

The relief well won't be ready until early or late August, which will give this oil spill months of continued chaos if this current attempt fails.  I just got a twitter message saying that BP expects to get all of the leaking oil from the floor of the ocean sometime next week, but how much of that can we really believe?

To be honest, we have put too much faith in BP to fix this crisis, and clean up the mess, when it actually seems that everything they do is not accomplishing anything.  And then there is what the CEO said.  He actually said that he "wanted his life back".  Well, I'm sorry for incoveincing you, but wildlife and even people are at risk right now, and it is your job to clean it up!

And then we hear that they are spending millions of dollars on a public relations campaing to I guess do damage control.  Come on BP, your reputation is already down the tube, use that money to help rescue wildlife and assist in the cleanup!

And what really gets me is that they are in charge of accepting the ideas from Americans to see what could clean up the water faster.  And most people get generic responses.  I saw on CNN where this one guy has a awesome idea by putting hay in the water and it would soak up the oil.  He demonstrated it and everything, and Bill Nye The Science Guy said it would actually worked, and he had used it in the past.  But you know what the guy got from BP?  A generic response.  I applaud CNN for showing the good ideas and showing that BP is not doing all it can do.

Besides, I don't even think BP should be in charge of it.  I think the federal government should be in charge of what methods to use to clean all of this up, and give BP the tab.  Don't you agree?

You can probably tell how upset I am about this.  I am a person that wants to preserve life and steer away from all of this stuff that could cause our natural home harm.  And this is a prime example.  All I can say is that when this is over, BP's head will be on a nice, silver platter.

Comment with your ideas on how this spill can be cleaned up!
