Chris Medina

The three judges of American Idol made the worst mistake by sending home Chris Medina. Yes, but do you feel that staying would pull him back? I sure do! By leaving AI now, he already has a single out, performing all over and it has been only 2 days since his elimination.

Chris has a story behind his constant pursuit to make it. His fiance, Juliana Ramos has had it hard by being bound to a wheel chair due to a serious brain injury. But that only keeps him going, and he isn't going to stop yet. I feel that his struggles are only going to encourage him to go forward, and I don't think he has any plans on looking back.

I think Jennifer Lopez's emotional response to sending Chris home was a launching point to his career. It showed how talented he was. It all was very emotional for both Lopez and Chris because they both knew what was at stake. But now I think all three judges will be crying because they didn't keep him on while they had the chance.

His single, "What Are Words" was released mere hours ago, and it is already the talk on Twitter, and he is already climbing the charts on iTunes. I had plans earlier today to buy the song. I knew the publicity of it and the emotion behind it would sell it fast, and I wanted a peice of it. I got on here to buy it, and already 80 reviews were posted for the song, and there is no telling how many people have bought it. If money was an issue for Chris, it won't be for long.

The song is amazing as well. I knew from the start it would be words that came from the heart, and sung from the heart as well. The piano at the starts it with a very personal feel, and then when Chris starts it is very inspirational. The song climaxes the more you get into it, and the more emotional you feel. Truly a hit.

So yes, leaving Idol could be the biggest break for Chris, although he didn't think so at the time. It is people like him that deserve a happy ending by doing the thing you love the most. I'm sure he has no regrets by keeping at what he loves to do, and also to audition for Idol because of the path it has put him on.

This song is so great, and I encourage you to buy it. You can purchase it here! Watch out, because I know this song will become #1 by dawn!

New Hit

Brian McFadden was just on the news for rumors of disturbing a flight, but now he is on the news for his latest single, "Just the Way You Are (Drunk at the Bar)". And let me tell you, I think it competes with his big single, "Just Say So". People are already making attempts to make it #1, and I don't think it will be hard.

We knew for months that he was back to work in LA writing his new album, and also setting up to make is mark in the USA. I think the plan was creating a "Wall of Soundz 2" for Australia, and then making a mixture album of both the first and second album for the USA. So after several months, we have seen the result of his work, and it is HOT!

I never saw Brian go this route, but the Banjo is a big part of this single. While I didn't like the sound of it at first, I started to feel the connection it had with the song. While it's not his most inspirational song, it does have fun lyrics to sing and dance to.  Here are the main lyrics, and while I'm not exactly sure if these words are correct, I think they are right:

"I like you just the way you are
Drunk and s@?# dancing at the bar
I like it, like it
When I get you home to do some damage"

This has me really excited for his new album. This also gets me excited for the album that he is going to release in the states. Which also raises the question: Will he release this next in America? I don't see why not. Unless, he plans on releasing some older songs first. I hope that isn't the case because I really want to buy this song!

So if you haven't heard this song yet, I suggest you do because you are going to be way behind the times! And if you want this song as much as I do, you Australians can buy it here. Go buy it now!!  As of right now, the single is #15 on his page.  But I can assure you that it will be up to #1 as soon as all of Australia wakes up!!

And Brian, if you are reading this, great job, and I am looking for more work you present! Come back to the USA!

Twitter War

Don't laugh when you read the title, because this story was just that, a Twitter War. I had always heard of celebrities become a part of a Twitter rant and such, but I have never saw or became a part of it. But this was very much a battle to the unresolved end between myself and one other.

What started it all was a quote that I found in my church bulliten and since it was a symbol of Presidents weekend, I found it appropriate to post it. It reads, "It is impossible to rightly govern without God and the Bible" -George Washington. Not that bad right? Apparently I wasn't the only person trying to honor that day because there were multiple posts with that quote.

But there are always some that try to discredit things that are said. Whether it is a religious leader or a political leader or scientist. Last night the person stirring it up on Twitter was @GoodReasonNews. I'm not sure of his religion. I'm thinking atheist or some other anti-God religion. Not that I have anything wrong with that, it is just that people that bash other ideologies is what causes religious conflicts. And his comment was, "Your Washington quote is a hoax, he never said that." And then he provided a link. You can read the full conversation here.

But some other things he said were, "Why don't you try to find where and when he said it? You won't find it, because he never said it...Try doing a search for that phrase, yr results will be A) Right-Wing/Bible sites' unsubstantiated claims B) Evidence it's false...Finally, if u knew anything about Wikipedia, you'd know it A) is as reliable as an encyclopedia B) Provides sources, unlike you....The burden of proof always falls squarely on the shoulders of those making the claim. The onus isn't on me. Prove he said it...How irresponsible. Prove to me that Washington didn't say "I love buttsex with farm animals." Prove he didn't! Just as silly!"

I could understand that the quote could be a hoax, but he would only provide information that didn't mention it or a site like Wikipedia which will not prove anything solid in society. And the whole time he was trying to prove to me that it didn't exist, while I was trying to get him to bring some solid evidence to the table.

Interesting huh? Here is what I replied with,"Your report and claim cannot be relied on. Come on, ANYONE can edit Wikipedia. I'll consider it when you get a Historian...He may not have said it, but you have yet to show me substantial proof that he didn't say it...Your resources so far are Wikipedia, Wordpress, links to Amazon, and even sources that are no longer on the web... No respected college accepts Wikipedia as a source. If you took that to a professor they would throw it back in your face... I'm not a historian, so I couldn't quote to you everything he said concerning religion. But you don't seem to either."

If you read the full conversation exactly as it happened, you will be able to see the heat that was produced during the whole thing. He also did this to several other people, and they have given the same response. Some have thanked me for the things I have said that night.

I finally had to walk away from the situation. But only after I told him that I would blog about the event and get the American public to hear about the claims that he was making. Listen, maybe the quote was made up. But the problem is that he made it more than just about the quote. It was a personal attack towards religious groups that respect the quote.

And not only does that attack the religious groups. It attacks the patriotism of not only the nation, but the President that led us to the freedom that so many died for. That is the purpose of Presidents day, and it is people like you, @GoodReasonNews, that divides this great nation in so many ways.

So I have a challenge for you. There are so many directions of research to go in to find the truth about this quote. I challenge you to find a reliable source that talks about this quote and when Washington said it. If you find anything, place it in here and I'll talk about it in future posts.

All in all, even if the quote isn't real, so what? Just because it may not be real doesn't mean it does not have real truth behind it. And despite all of the religious differences, people need to respect the beliefs of others even if they see differently.

Sticks & Stones

We all know it is coming. My music reviews are starting to come so frequently it is hard to be suprised anymore. This week I have been jamming to some very good tunes. And some were from people I never thought I would listen to. I'm sure these songs are favorites among some so this will be easy!

Justin Bieber. "AHHH!!!" I'm sure that is what some of you are saying. For me, it is taking alot for me to write about him. I haven't liked his music at all and I just haven't thought about talking about his music either. But the Grammys have changed my tone with his new song out and about. For the Grammys I had mixed reviews about the Beiber/Usher performance. At the beginning, I felt a "Gay" vibe going on for those two. But when Beiber sang his song, it was really good. It got me thinking of buying his song "Never Say Never". I did, and it isn't that half bad. It actually has a mature tone and theme, which is something I feel that he lacked in songs before. So I applaud you Bieber for this song and I encourage you to stay in this direction.

Another shocker is Adele's "Rolling in the Deep". She was another artist that I never cared for and never really paid attention when I heard her songs. But "Rolling in the Deep" has caught my eye and I haven't been able to stop playing it. It has a soul feel and it is just enjoyable to hear. So many people I know have been all over her and I can see why. I may be tempted to buy her latest album.

Someone that you may not know though is Jason Reeves. Although he has many singles and albums on iTunes, I think this new single of his really has people looking at him. I know I ceratinly have. His single "Sticks and Stones" came out this week I belive, and it is a rather decent single. It is different from his past work though. This single is a more faster pace and more dance and pop while I think his past work is more slower, and more acoustic. But this single may be the start of a new Jason Reeves, and I encourage you to start with this song!

Someone else that I think you should listen to is Andrew Allen. His recent version of "Loving You Tonight" came out this week and it really gets you in a summer theme. It has a popish/acoutic theme and has the lyrics to send girls flying all over him. While some people say his song is like all the other love songs, he doesn't seem to have to use alot of energy to spread the warm vibe. All it wants you to do is stick your feet in the sand and sip on your favorite drink. I highly recommend it.

Well guys, like every other music review, I hope you check out these songs and see for yourself if they are good choices. And make sure to spread the word about the awesome songs! Watch out next time for my new set of music reviews!

Eosinophilic Esophagitis

Today something has been heavy on my heart. And I feel I have to share it now while all of my thoughts are together. Usually, I talk about something relating to society or something funny in my life, or mainly I talk about my review about something or reporting about a rumor. But tonight I am coming straight from the heart and I know alot of people can come out of this post and spread it to others that need it desperately.

As you can tell from the title, I have Eosinophilic Esophagitis Syndrome (EE). For those who don't know what EE is, or even know how to say it, don't worry, because I still don't know how to pronounce it right, nor am I 100% aware of what it does and how it effects me. I was diagnosed 4 years ago this August, but now that I look back, I feel that I have always had it. Since my diagnosis, and even before that, I have had good and bad experiences that tell me my limits with this syndrome, and what I need to do to manage it.

Basically in a nutshell, according to Wikipedia, EE is "an allergic inflammatory condition of the esophagus. Symptoms are swallowing difficulty, food impaction, and heartburn. The disease was first described in children but occurs in adults as well. The condition is not well understood, but food allergy may play a significant role."

I think I am writing this for the families and the individuals such as my family and myself that went for years without knowing, and could possibly live a better life. People seem to read what they find on the internet alot quicker, so I hope this is reached by much needed people. Remember, I am just a blogger without a degree in this field. So if you have any thought that you or someone you know may have this, go to a site that can give you the straight facts. I know so many people have their own stories and their own journey's, but today I want to tell you mine.

I was a very sick child during my youth. Probably more than others. I had asthema, and I had dozens of allergies. I could only drink so much milk as a baby before I refused it. I seem to have been a child that had to watch everything. Later on, I was tested and was allergic to over 50 things. The big ones were Milk, Eggs, Wheat, and Peanuts.

Now that I think back, years after my diagnosis, I have been able to peice all of my illnesses all back to EE or as a result. Asthema, which apparently is a common symptom, was a big problem in my youth, and the constant consumption of any dairy products and any of the other big allergy products were also problems. I remember always having pain inside, and both me, and my doctor mistakening it for a stomach ache. That is why I feel that I have had it since birth.

For years I would wake up in severe pain. And while hearburn pills would sometimes cut it, sometimes it wouldn't even mask the pain I was feeling. I would wake up and toss and turn throughout the night trying to make the pain go away, but would fail.

It wasn't until my Sophmore year that I realized something was wrong. After having pizza for lunch, I sat in my last class and could feel something change in my body. My chest seemed to tighten and my throat was clogged shut. I couldn't breath, and I felt pains all over, especially on my left side. And I could feel my heart racing. From what I heard I honestely thought I was having a heart attack. And I think I was in a state of panic because I was frozen for the entire class. A part of it was because I didn't want to cause a scene, but it was also because I had no energy to get up and attempt to go anywhere.

I think I was washed with adrenaline because I mustered the energy to get up and walk/crawl to my car. When I managed to get in, I cried. I cried like a baby. Partly because I was not in control of what was happening to me, and also because of the fear of not knowing what was going on. I joke about it now with my family, but I was waiting for the "sweet release of death". The pain was blinding, and I think death did cross my mind several times that afternoon.

After managing to get ahold of my mom, I drove home, which is what I now think was against my better judgement. We then went to the doctor to see what was wrong. I was still set on it being a heart attack because it all fit. But they said I was fine and couldn't find anything wrong with me. Just the regular acid reflux that they always said I had.

After the numerous pills and no conclusion to what was wrong, I was referred to a pediatric doctor in Asheville, NC. Immediately upon arrival and a short list of my symptoms, my doctor was positive that EE was the cause of my pain. We instantly began planning endoscopies and biopsies and a strict diet that I was to follow. No dairy. No! Dairy is in everything, and I think I instantly craved things that I couldn't have.

The results were nearly 100% clear. I had Eosinophilic Esophagitis. I was diagnosed with it officially that August. For most cases they say that families and the individual go through a sudden change because of it. But for me I think it was easier because the foods that were causing this were the foods I never really liked. But I do admit it was hard because you don't realize how much dairy and eggs in in food until you really start watching what you eat.

Close to 4 years have passed, and I have stuck with my medicine and diet and I have stayed healthy, if not healthier since my diagnosis. But throughout all of this there has been stuggles with temptations to eat those "forbidden" foods, or finding foods that contain anything that you cannot have, for finding our McDonalds cook their food in peanut oil now.

Another struggle is having people not understanding your condition. I have had to turn down outings with friends because they decide to go somewhere where there is nothing I am able to eat. It is also hard when I have family that forget about my condition for one second when ordering. That leaves me in a "eat the food of death or starve" situation.

Something that I realized recently is that I haven't been able to find someone that really understands what I went through and what I still go through today. EE is only found in 1 out of 10,000 people. So finding someone to talk to other than a doctor is rare. And it gives you a sense of being alone. But I think that is why I am writing this. To make more people arware that anyone could have this.

So if you have any indication that you may have EE, I would suggest you go to a doctor and get diagnosed right away. I know my life has changed drastically and for the better because of it. And if you want more info, you can read Wikipedia and it's resources. I really wanted to provide more information to people wanting to know more, but I just don't have all the space to talk about it.

So this is my story about Eosinophilic Esophagitis. And I am not the only one. Many of you are or know someone dealing with EE. Tell your story. If not on here, then somewhere else to help more people become aware. While EE cannot be cured, it can be treated, and I want everyone to have the same treatment I got.

God Bless, and the best of health!

Rumors

Are the rumors true? That is the big question for Australia right now. Fans of Brian McFadden, and even Delta Goodrem are wondering what all happened on a flight from LA to Australia that involved the federal police. It buzzed on the web quickly, and made it into other media, making it a frenzy for McFadden.

According to the AFP, (Australian Federal Police) "The AFP can confirm it responded to a request from Virgin Airlines to attend a flight, which was arriving at Sydney International Airport. The AFP attended the gate when the aircraft arrived and spoke to Virgin Airlines staff. Two men were subsequently spoken to by Police."

Those two are rumored to be of course Brian McFadden and Kyle Sandilands. According to 3AW News Talked, "Passengers and staff on a Virgin flight from LA to Sydney this morning have spoken of a drunken rampage by former boy band singer Brian McFadden. Witnesses say McFadden was drinking heavily and abused flight attendants and fellow passengers, and was smoking on the flight. Virgin Blue has confirmed there was an incident on flight VA-2 but won't comment further as it's currently a Federal Police matter."

There is also a recording of a reported asking Brian McFadden if he was smoking on the plane and he said that he didn't smoke, which we know that he does. And there were also rumors that he was heavily drunk and abusing staff.

Delta Goodrem, my idol, and McFadden's fiance broke the silence by saying on Twitter, "Whatever people have said that happened Didnt!! slow news day hehe! xx" and, "Sorry to burst your bubble wasnt detained! All the best!"

I love Delta to death, but we cannot deny that something would have had to happen to have the pilot get AFP on standby. Brian has denied the allegations, saying on Twitter, "wasn't arrested! didn't smoke on the flight. and the virgin staff were very nice. i did have a few drinks but i was not smashed and abusive, thats all folks, if reports were true then i would have been arrested, fined and wosrt! banned from my favorite airline v australia. storm in a tea cup." And then today he said in an interview, "Takes a lot more than a couple of drinks to get me drunk, I'm an Irishman."

Whether he is clean or not, it has caused a buzz over there. It continues to buzz on Twitter, and I'm sure word has gotten out globally. Don't get me wrong, I love both Delta and Brian to death, but I feel that more facts need to be released to assure us of what actually happened. So let me ask you, do you think he did cause a disturbance? Or do you think someone was able to make a convincing claim that he did start something?

Until next time!

Born This Way

Today I'm going to be like every other blog and article in the world right now. Everybody has been talking about the new single by Lady Gaga, and now it is my time to give my two sense. The single is called "Born This Way" and so far it is taking the world by storm.

The hype for this song has been going on for weeks. Like I have talked in the past, #BornThisWayFriday was the trending topic on twitter for some time. All the fans had was the erotic cover artwork of Gaga and the lyrics text to keep them full for the time being. But they were already hungry for more.

Immediately the song has skyrocketed. I know it was released on the 11th, and by the time I got back from class it was already #1 on iTunes. And word was going around that it is #1 in 23 countries. That is pretty impressive. But not only that, each country has thousands of reviews and probably tens of thousands if not millions of sales.

I think the song has recieved mixed to positive reveiws. For the majority, the song has recieved positive reviews with comments like "Best Gay song since "I will Survive"" and comments like that. For me, I am in the mixed review section. While the song is good, I think that it isn't her best work. I think "Bad Romance" is her best. But don't worry, because "Bad Romance" is a hard song to top. But I can tell that this is probably the best song to some people.

But besides the reviews saying that it is for the gay community gay rights, I think it is for everybody right now. It has a good message by saying that we are all who we are and made by God, so don't judge. It is a perfect message for right now because of everything going on, and I think Gaga recognized that and decided to put it in song.

So Gaga, you have stormed the music industry again, and I don't think you are even close to finishing. I just look forward to the song you do release that tops "Bad Romance".

So what do you think about "Born This Way"? Love? Hate? Post your comments now!

PR Part 2

A day in the life of a public relations specialist is busy. Public relation specialists are required to work 35 to 40 hours a week. They are on the job all the time and right there if something wrong occurs. Sometimes the routine of a specialist is interrupted, and the plan of action has to be rearranged due to different deadlines, or a change in activities in the area, or required traveling. It is common for specialists to have to work overtime but not get paid for it. Thus, it is imperative for a PR specialist to be flexible (Career Information).

There are several issues that would make a person reconsider going into PR field. One reason would be that a specialist usually has to work overtime and not get paid for that time. Thus, such an individual work more and get paid less. Another reason would be that many specialists have to constantly be on the job, or constantly on call. And lastly, there is a good chance, that on the job, the specialist would frequently be distracted by other tasks that would need to be completed. Many specialists must rearrange their schedules in order to include extra job activities, to travel, or to prepare speeches (Career Information).

During my senior project I had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Pam Collins as my mentor. During our planning stage of the project, I observed her making phone calls to different individuals in the community to find out what we would be able to do for my project. I discussed with her different aspects of the project, such as promotion, requesting donations, buying needed materials, and organizing each thing for a specific purpose.

I took her advice on when and how to speak publicly to people about my project. For example, during the New Century Scholar Senior Parent Night, she suggested that I introduce my project plan as a speech to the students and parents were in attendance. That helped me realize what to change for future promotions, and I successfully began my first step towards promoting my project publicly. Afterwards, I felt more comfortable speaking publicly as I promoted my project on the radio, in local newspapers, and finally the night of the fundraiser event.

During my time with my mentor, I spent a lot of time talking first-hand to different people in the community. Because many materials were needed for the project from the community, it was essential that we made sure that we went throughout the community to ensure that those materials were obtained. Once approved, I also sent a letter to over 100 businesses, telling them about my project, the importance of it, and also asking for any donation, monetary or supplies, to help contribute to the actual event.
The day of the event took a lot of planning and organization. My mentor and I spent the beginning part of the day collecting remaining materials needed for the event that night. When those tasks were completed, we began the next phase and started setting up at the place of our event such as getting food materials set up in the kitchen, and the raffle items. Later, soon before the event was to take place, I was to pick up the food, then return to get the food set up ready to serve.

The night itself was a big success. We had our scholars assigned to different tables to serve to ensure that every guest was served promptly and formally. Scholars were also assigned to work at the raffle table to assist guests who wanted to participate in the raffle. For the entertainment part of the night, we had the Franklin B*Naturals perform selected pieces, and after their performance the pianist, Vinnie Agrusa, performed. That night, we had less than 100 people attend, but the result was better than expected. I expected a total of $1500 to be raised that night, but we were able to raise more than $1700, and a few weeks later we received another $100 donation. During my interview with the Macon County News that night, I called it a great success.

In conclusion, public relations has existed for thousands of years. There are several different colleges one can attend, with varying costs, to obtain a Public Relations degree. A public relations specialist will see many different tasks within their average day and may face several different issues that can make public relations a questionable career choice for a person who is not flexible and not able to handle pressure. However, if you enjoy working with, and in front, of many people, have a flexible personality, and can multitask, the rewards of becoming a public relations director are quite great.

Public Relations

Wow guys, we are reaching towards the end of this series. This is the final paper that I have for you guys to see. This one actually goes back awhile. This was the one that I wrote for my senior project, done over a year ago. It's pretty big, so I'll have to divide it up. But anyways, enjoy!

Public relations between people have existed since humans first began congregating, but the idea is less than 100 years old and has been defined in many different ways. People who are PR specialists would “serve as advocates for businesses, nonprofit associations, universities, hospitals, and build and maintain positive relationships with the public” (Career Information). Some early examples of public relations include when a farm bulletin was produced informing farmers how to grow crops in 1800 B.C, when Pope Gregory XV created the College for propagating the Faith in 1623, when colonists staged the Boston Tea Party, and when Edward Bernays led an effort to inform the public about the dangers of smoking (Second).

Successful public relation specialists must have an outgoing personality, possess self-confidence, have an understanding of human psychology, and have an enthusiasm for motivating people. They also need to be competitive, yet able to work in a team. Specialists held about 188,000 jobs in 2004 (Career Information). Currently the number of qualified applicants is expected to exceed the amount of jobs available, but job availability will increase to higher than average through 2014 (Career Information).

One of the many colleges that offers a public relations program is Ferris State University. The college is located in Michigan, with many different campuses in the area. Its public relations program is one of the most interesting among universities because one can earn a bachelor’s of science in business and also receive a degree in public relations. The different courses offered for a degree in public relations include advertising, marketing communications, and journalism. Although Ferris University has four requirements, students only need three for admission (Public Relations). They include a high school GPA of 2.5, English SAT of 370 or higher, a math SAT of 460 or higher, and reading ACT of 19 or higher. Their graduation requirement is a 2.0 GPA in their core courses (Public Relations). The tuition for a non-resident is $15,900 for a year, and room and board for a year is $8,940, making the entire tuition $24,840 for one year (2009).

Another college which offers a public relations program is Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. The program mandates that students take the typical liberal arts courses, along with the specific classes for public relations major. Their program has more than one hundred mentors available to students, which is more than any program in the area. Students will not only receive experience in public relations, but also in communication, event planning, marketing, and journalism. There are 32 required courses plus prerequisites to complete the public relations major. A minor has a required 24 credit hours and includes other courses. Students have the opportunity of going to such locations as Chicago, Miami, England, and Australia to work on their public relations campaign. Students also have the opportunity to learn from real public relation campaigns. As of 2009, the tuition for an out-of-state student is $13,124 for one semester and $24,230 for a full year, and a student can expect to pay $17,104 for one semester or $34,208 for one year for a double room (B-W).

A public relations specialist’s education prepares him/her for numerous duties such as handling organizational functions which include media, community, employee relations and governmental campaigns. They are sometimes required to write speeches and press releases, which they release to the media for broadcasting. PR specialists also arrange and conduct events and programs to maintain contact between organizations and the public, as well as write proposals for different projects. They sometimes handle publicity for individuals or, small organizations. They may also initiate advertising campaigns to support marketing attempts (Career Information).

Trending

How many of you are on Twitter? How many people join in by reading or talking about a very popular topic? Well Twitter calls that topic trending. And sometimes all it takes is one person to start up something, or any bit of news to send the twitter users on fire. This week there have been some very popular topics going on, and even some very big news going on now.

As I talked about on Sunday, one of the big ones is the Super Bowl. During the game, people were tweeting their support for teams, what they were doing while watching the game, or commenting on the half time show. And people like me were talking about the epic fail when it came to Christina Aguilera and the National Anthem.

The next one seems to be on Twitter's trending for awhile. Britney Spears announced that the title of her new album would be called "Femme Fatale". And people have gone crazy over it. People have been tweeting about this since before the Super Bowl. There are millions of loyal Spears fans out there, and want to keep the excitment going. To me, it isn't that big. It is still awhile before the album is going to be out. On the other hand, when Delta releases the name and date of her album I'll be talking about it every day.

News has broke out today that Ashlee Simpson has filed divorce papers against her hubby Pete Wentz. The marrige is short lived, and has produced one child named Bronx. Ashlee is planning on taking the child and going to court for child support. It's so funny because before all of this, they wanted to have more kids. "Everything is awesome about being a dad," Pete told at the time. "Eventually we want to be able to have a soccer team." Doesn't look like that is gonna happen!

Lady Gaga fans are also creating hype for the new single from her new album. "Born This Way" is making it's debut this Friday, and people are going nuts over it! The single was supposed to be released later on, but it has been decided that the single will be released earlier. I know for a fact that people are going to eat this new song up! People were talking about this song before news of it even came out. And I promise you that this song will be #1 on iTunes before you even wake up Friday morning!

And lastly, fans have shown their gratitude towards the Jonas Brothers. On Twitter, they posted, "Amazing! We're so blessed to have the best fans in the world. We love you! #BurningUpForJonas". I'm suprised something like this caused a trend. When I looked I thought the news of Joe Jonas's debut album had been announced or something. But no, people just want to tweet how much they love them.

So there you have it folks, these are some of today's massive trends on Twitter. Some of these don't even really impact what is going on right now. It makes you wonder if someone posted something like "Keep Prayer Going" or "Feed the Hungry" how many people would retweet. I doubt many would if it doesn't say that Britney Spears is doing it!

Jeff Bezos

Here is another paper that I have come across that I think all of you will enjoy. Who knows, maybe you'll learn an interesting fact. Enjoy!

Jeff Bezos is a man who can take a crib down at the age of three, becoming senior Vice President at 28, to starting a multi-million dollar company out of his own garage. He became one of the world’s wealthiest people at the early age of thirty three. And by 1997, he was worth a value of 178 million dollars. Since then his value has increased as well as his company which is now one of the biggest online store.

Jeff was born on January 12, 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His mother, Jackie Gise divorced his father soon after Jeff’s birth. She married Mike Bezos in 1968 and Mike adopted Jeff soon after. Jeff’s two half siblings, Christina and Mark were born in 1970 and 1971. The family lived in Houston Texas while Mike worked as a petroleum engineer for Exxon. Later on they moved to Miami. At the early age of 10, Jeff’s family members noticed how smart Jeff was. Jeff spent time with educational games and toys, and built things such as amateur radios and an infinity Cube. He was able to turn an electric alarm into a security system to keep his siblings out of his room. Like every child at his age, he was interested in football. Although his parents thought that his team players would squash him, he was maid captain of the defensive team.

After the move to Florida, Jeff enrolled to Miami Palmetto Senior High School. During that time he attended the Student Science Training Program at University of Florida. That program helped Jeff receive the Silver Knight award. He also won several academic awards the previous years. He was elected to be president of his class his senior year, and then was named valedictorian of his class. After graduation he went off to Princeton University, first planning on getting his physics degree, then changed to computer science. By the time he graduated in 1986, he had been elected to the national honor society Phi Beta Kappa. His overall GPA was 3.9.

During his senior year, Jeff met recruiters from different well known companies. Jeff declined offers from those big companies, and instead talked with handler for international financial business called FITEL. He was the eleventh employee at FITEL and was manager of administration and development. Eight months later, he was promoted to associate director of technology and business development. He was able to improve the computer protocols of the company, eventually saving some 30 percent of its previous cost of communications.

After Jeff realized that FITEL was not exceeding his expectations, he moved to Global Fiduciary Services as assistant vice president. He headed a six-person department and designed programs that enabled the bank’s clients to check the status of their investments at any time, which was an innovation at the time. In 1990, the board of directors elected Jeff as vice president, the youngest in the bank’s history.

After meeting with headhunters about finding a new job that was not related to finance, who met David Shaw from D.E. Shaw & Co. The firm programmed computers to make decisions on when to buy or sell stocks. Jeff liked the company and began working there on December 1990 as a vice president. Two years later, he became the company’s youngest senior vice president at the early age of 28. That was also the same year when he met his future wife, Mackenzie. By the end of 1993, the Shaw firm asked Jeff to explore new internet business opportunities.

While Jeff was researching about this growing thing called the internet, he was becoming interested in the thought of e-commerce, and the thought that Shaw could be the first mover in that direction. Jeff thought of what things that could be sold well over the internet and thought that books would be a top seller. He soon discovered that no book seller dominated the book industry, nor were books being sold at great numbers.

He then realized that a book catalog on the internet could hold millions of titles, while a bookstore’s supply would be limited. Jeff researched and discovered that books were the best product to sell over the internet. Jeff took the idea to the Shaw firm, but was turned down. He left to pursue his idea and headed west.

In Seattle, Jeff began to pursue his idea. He turned his garage space into a work place using a flush door, angle irons, and 4 X 4-inch posts as a desk, which would eventually become the symbol of the company, and used in all of the offices. He named his site Amazon.com, resembling the Amazon River, calling it earth’s biggest selection. He hired very smart people to become employees. Eventually they had enough employees and online customers that they moved to a two story building in the city.

By late 1996, Jeff let Amazon.com go public, selling stocks at $18 a share and 3 million shares available. Jeff owned another 9 million shares, making him worth 177.8 million dollars. Later on, Amazon.com branched out to selling music CDs, video, to eventually anything on the web and could be found anywhere in the world bringing in 1.4 billion dollars in 1999, and making Amazon.com worth 32 billion dollars. At 35, Jeff was named the Person of the Year by Time Magazine. He continued to make Amazon.com grow with different ideas.

In 2007, Jeff announced that Amazon would be creating a device known as the Kindle which is an electronic device to read books. It used “E Ink” to give it a print-like appearance. Jeff was awarded an honorary doctorate in Science and Technology from Carnegie Mellon University in 2008. Also in 2008, he was selected to be one of America’s best leaders by U.S News and World Report. Today, Jeff and Mackenzie live north of Seattle.

Botched

Well America, it has only been a few minutes since the beginning of the Super Bowl, and already it is making headline news. I am usually not a faithful watcher of the game. I usually stick around to watch the commercials and because we have people over. So far, the only thing I have watched so far was the National Anthem, and the reaction has gone viral.

If you haven't been watching, Christina Aguilera began the game with her version of the national anthem. And oh boy, was it something. For me, it was all over the place. Some times it was soft, and then sometimes she was singing at the top of her lungs. It sort of reminds you of going level on a rollercoaster and then taking a huge drop. I don't like huge drops so this was a perfect analogy.

Apparently people were placing bets on how long she would hold the last note. I think the majority would bet 6 seconds. And you know what, she doubled that. And I am suprised she made it that long because she sort of screamed the last note. And she continued to scream throughout the full twelve seconds.

And the whole time I was thinking that the lyrics didn't sound right. As a graduate of high school, I sang the national anthem to my graduating class, and what I sang and what she sang were different in some areas. And you know what, I was right! I come on here and notice that people were talking about it as well! And of course that is going to cause alot of controversey and buzz for days if not weeks to come. And then there will be the people that will call her unpatriotic for messing up. But you know what, sometimes people do mess up.

But despite that, she did mess up the entire song. Lyrics and all! And when you have millions watching you for that whole minute, they will be watching for every little thing that could go wrong. And already they have! I just can't wait til tomorrow morning to see what the news has to say. Or better yet, Christia may tweet an apology.

Hoping you are enjoying super sunday and enjoy the rest of the game!

Workout

Happy Febuary! Already I am looking forward to the warmer weather that should be just over the horizon. I know, it's several months before we should even be thinking of warm weather, but time is going very fast. Things will be growing again and my favorite season will be upon us.

I want to take a moment and thank the One Call band for reading my review. And thanks to Chris Moy, one of the band members, for saying that it was a good review. I always enjoy spreading the word about good band/artists, and I enjoy hearing them say that they are good. I did some more digging on these guys, and they all have come from interesting backgrounds. And judging by how many people came to read my review of them, they are already on the verge of becoming something huge. So keep it up guys!

But they are not the only ones that have checked out my reviews. I actually have a list going of the people mentioning my blog. Brian McFadden, Aimee Allen, Edens Edge, and now One Call. Gotta keep it growing!

Anyways, this week I have taken the motivation to start working out. Now, for those that know me know that I have never worked out in my life. A little bit here and there, but nothing significant. But since I am wanting to become stronger and gain some wait, I figured that I would start this. I guess you could call this my new year's resolution. And I think it came about because my health teacher encouraged us that always sit around and do nothing to get up and do something.

Down on the lower floor of our house, my dad built a gym. It has barely been use, probably was collecting dust before I touched it. I knew that I wanted to do this, but knew that if I went down there alone that I wouldn't make it long. So I asked one of my best friends to come with me. She said she would. Since we were short for time on Tuesday, we didn't get to do much. But we worked out for 30 minutes. And I felt like I was carrying a million tons. And my friend laughed saying that in most cases what we did was just a workout.

That morning I wasn't sore, suprisingly. I was expecting for it to come eventually though. After class, I returned and went down there by myself. And I made it for 40 minutes, and actually did more stuff during that time. And I felt great! This morning though, not so much. I am sore all over, and I feel that every time I bend over that my stomach will fall out.

But I am glad that I am doing this because I have always wanted to become a more healthier person physically. And so far I can tell the difference. Weight wise, I know I have changed. I have ate the house down, and I have already gained a few pounds. So this is working out for my benifit. Sadly, I didn't work out today because I was just so sore. But I plan to get back down there tomorrow with my friend to keep things up.

For those that were exactly like me and had no intention to work out, go and do it! I know it is harder for some to reach a gym, but I know it will be worth it for everyone!

Well guys, this has been fun. I better get off of here and attempt this math homework that I have been putting off for week! Have fun!
