Trending

How many of you are on Twitter? How many people join in by reading or talking about a very popular topic? Well Twitter calls that topic trending. And sometimes all it takes is one person to start up something, or any bit of news to send the twitter users on fire. This week there have been some very popular topics going on, and even some very big news going on now.

As I talked about on Sunday, one of the big ones is the Super Bowl. During the game, people were tweeting their support for teams, what they were doing while watching the game, or commenting on the half time show. And people like me were talking about the epic fail when it came to Christina Aguilera and the National Anthem.

The next one seems to be on Twitter's trending for awhile. Britney Spears announced that the title of her new album would be called "Femme Fatale". And people have gone crazy over it. People have been tweeting about this since before the Super Bowl. There are millions of loyal Spears fans out there, and want to keep the excitment going. To me, it isn't that big. It is still awhile before the album is going to be out. On the other hand, when Delta releases the name and date of her album I'll be talking about it every day.

News has broke out today that Ashlee Simpson has filed divorce papers against her hubby Pete Wentz. The marrige is short lived, and has produced one child named Bronx. Ashlee is planning on taking the child and going to court for child support. It's so funny because before all of this, they wanted to have more kids. "Everything is awesome about being a dad," Pete told at the time. "Eventually we want to be able to have a soccer team." Doesn't look like that is gonna happen!

Lady Gaga fans are also creating hype for the new single from her new album. "Born This Way" is making it's debut this Friday, and people are going nuts over it! The single was supposed to be released later on, but it has been decided that the single will be released earlier. I know for a fact that people are going to eat this new song up! People were talking about this song before news of it even came out. And I promise you that this song will be #1 on iTunes before you even wake up Friday morning!

And lastly, fans have shown their gratitude towards the Jonas Brothers. On Twitter, they posted, "Amazing! We're so blessed to have the best fans in the world. We love you! #BurningUpForJonas". I'm suprised something like this caused a trend. When I looked I thought the news of Joe Jonas's debut album had been announced or something. But no, people just want to tweet how much they love them.

So there you have it folks, these are some of today's massive trends on Twitter. Some of these don't even really impact what is going on right now. It makes you wonder if someone posted something like "Keep Prayer Going" or "Feed the Hungry" how many people would retweet. I doubt many would if it doesn't say that Britney Spears is doing it!
