Thunder: Chapter 3

While they were heading to class, a few of the so called friends of Lance and Katie waved to them and invited them to join the group. Lance and Katie gave a fake wave and left, politely leaving them.

They made it to class just as the late bell rang. Mrs. Goldman stared at them as they barley made it. They sat down in a hurry, and took out their Psychology books.  Once the rest of the class settled down, Mrs. Goldman began.

The day soon was half over. Lance entered the lunchroom from his 5th period class. He walked into the lunch line, and found that the food was not promising. But he put a smile on his face, and put the food that he thought that he could eat on his plate.

Once he paid, he sat at his usual table with Katie, and his other friend, Shannon Buckel. She was also very pretty. She had blonde hair way below her shoulders, and had dark green eyes. And had a scent on her that made Lance so drawn to her.

He knew that Shannon had some kind of attraction towards him. But he soon put her out of his mind, for his real girlfriend was heading toward his way.

Monica Bolten was one of the most popular girls in the school, if not in the city. She had straight brown hair, with makeup that was lightly applied to her face. She also wore skirts that made other guys think that she was making a “Try me” statement.

Lance didn’t know why he was dating her. He didn’t even know how they even got together. He led to the conclusion that he was the popular guy, and she was the popular girl. So that meant that they were going out. It was one of those preppy traditions.

He mainly thought that she was going out with him because she wanted the make the other girls jealous, because she was going out with him. And also because he was going out with her. Also the fact that he was one of the richest inheritors in the school.

Monica walked down to where Lance was, her hips swaying left to right. When she reached Lance, she turned around, and landed on his lap. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him. This continued on for several minutes.

Katie and Shannon stared at them, and knew that Monica was trying to make a statement. They knew that Monica did not like the fact that Lance was with them all the time, and spent less with her.

The fact that Monica was kissing Lance burned Shannon’s skin. But she held her tongue, and continued to eat the disgusting display on her tray. Katie has a sickened look on her face. Were they ever going to come up for air, she wondered.  They finally broke apart. Monica looked at the two of them and gave a smirk. She looked back at Lance.

“Wanna go out on the town tonight baby,” she asked, ruby his hair with his hand. Lance didn’t like the fact that she was messing his hair up.

“Can’t. Er, honey.” Katie and Shannon gave a snigger. And Monica returned it with an evil frown.

Monica got up and smoothed the wrinkles that she made while laying on Lance. “Okay then,” she was able to say. She turned around, and give a fake nod towards Katie and Shannon. They were able to return it with a wave.

“I could have done my geometry homework while you two were cramming for biology,” Katie laughed. She knew that Lance didn’t enjoy what she said.

“Its not funny”, he said.  Katie and Shannon stared at each other, and then laughed.  Lance soon got annoyed. “Can we please change the subject?”

By that time, the bell to 6th period rang. Lance didn’t even get to eat the food that lay before him. He didn’t feel too bad about it. He got up and picked up his tray.

“I will see you later Shannon,” he said. He knew he couldn’t tell her about his and Katie’s “hobby”.

He paused while taking a moment to look into her gaze. Then continued on, and looked at Katie. “And I’ll see you tonight."

Katie nodded. He smiled, and then turned around, and headed out the door.
